Ham and Cheese Hot Pockets

Ham and Cheese Hot Pockets

All of the ingredients you'll need

Start by using the rolling pin on the crescent rolls so they mesh together

Add your ingredients

Add an egg wash to the half that you put your ingredients on around the edges

Fold over, press with fork, add some slits on the top and add your egg wash to the top

Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minute, remove and let cool completely before freezing

I had to taste test😉

Ingredients:
  • 2 packages crescent rolls - You could also use puff pastry
  • Shredded cheese - Whatever kind you prefer, I mixed sharp cheddar and Colby jack
  • Ham - cubed into small pieces
  • Honey Mustard or Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Egg
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Roll out your crescent rolls - One package will make four rolls.
  3. Add your ingredients to half the crescent roll - I layered by adding cheese on the bottom, then ham, mustard, and finished with more cheese.
  4. Whisk Egg
  5. Add egg wash to the edges on the side that has the ingredients
  6. Fold over other half and press with fork to seal
  7. Poke 3 wholes on the top and add egg wash to the top
  8. Bake for 15 minutes - Check underneath to make sure its fully done and not still doughy
  9. Remove from oven and let completely cool before storing in the freezer
  10. To reheat remove desired amount from the freezer and warm the individual in the microwave for about two minutes or until heated through, Or warm in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until heated through

This recipe made 8 Hot Pockets
Cost for entire batch $8
Per 1 serving $1
This really isn't much cheaper than purchasing pre made at the store but I do like knowing whats going into them and that there aren't as many preservatives, next time I'm going to try making my own dough t to cut down on cost!

National Peanut Butter Day

In honor of National peanut butter day coming up this Sunday the 24th, I thought I would share my favorite  peanut butter recipes from the blog.  I don’t know about you, but I never need an excuse for peanut butter, BUT I do love using these National (insert whatever here) day as a fun way to celebrate some of my favorite things.  To start us off I’ll share my favorite first! This is a little generic and certainly not all about peanut butter but my favorite is definitely  Chocolate Nobake Cookies (with peanut butter of course). And now for the rest in really no particular order because I couldn’t possibly decide between them all🤷‍♀️. Peanut blossoms   Peanut butter cookies Peanut butter sandwich cookies Peanut butter bars -  Chocolate peanut butter bars   Chocolate scotcheroos  Chocolate peanut butter fudge  Peanut butter cups  Chocolate peanut butter pie  Peanut butter popcorn And lastly...if you want peanut butter but with a li...

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper To get started you're going to turn your instant pot to the sauce feature. When it shows "Hot" on the display you're ready to add your olive oil and hamburger. Throw in all of your seasonings and brown the hamburger. Once its browned, add the noodles and more seasonings. Then add the two cans of beef broth and try to push all the ingredients down so there's not too much sitting on the surface. Then set the instant pot to cook for 8 minutes and do a quick release. Add in your milk, cheese, and party dip or sour cream if you have it. Turn it back onto sauté and stir everything together until it's melted. And serve! I don't know about you guys...but in our opinion you can't have hamburger helper without some bread and butter to go along with it😉. Ingredients: 1lb hamburger 8 oz elbow noodles 2 14 oz cans beef broth  1/2 - 1 cup milk  8 oz shredded ch...

Life update + some new projects

Lifish update I’ll do a full “anniversary post” in July but I’ve just had a lot of thoughts lately about life, crohns, everything. To be honest I’ve had a lot of confusion and even discouragement which is not normally me. I’m coming up on two years and while I’m no where near how I was two years ago (I mean that was pretty bad...😳) I’m also nowhere near where I thought I would be, I remember thinking that on the year anniversary too and I kind of think that feeling has just progressed since then😕. I’m no better than I was 8 months ago to be completely honest with you and in some ways may or worse? I am so so thankful to have a diagnosis and know what’s wrong with me, but with that I thought would come answers and healing. I’ve had some answers and some healing of course, but there’s still really a lot of unknown! In the beginning I used to talk about finding my “new normal” well I’m here to tell you 2 years later I still haven’t found it😂. Learning to navigate something new ...
