Weekly Recap April 28th - May 4th

I love this...and such a good reminder.

No ootd Sunday, after I showered I put pajamas right back on...not too interesting😂.

So cute...and I need to touch up our paint😬.

Hoping I'll share a little, I didnt.

I was sick on Sunday so we spent the day on the couch watching movies all day.

No ootd Monday either...at least I put sweat pants on instead of pajamas...😂

I know to get myself refueled this whole week will be about resting as much as possible, its not very easy when I love being on the movie and staying busy!

For supper I'm making my breaded ranch chicken, I tweaked a couple things this time.
I added a couple extra fun ingredients.
And decided to let it soak in the wet ingredients for the afternoon.

Always by my side, literally, they follow me everywhere😂.

Finished product! I decided to try them in the air fryer instead of baking and I'm so glad I did! they turned out so great.

Joe went down to the gym so I spent the evening cuddling puppies and watching tv.

How we started our day Tuesday. Who am I kidding, we start everyday a little slow...😂

Joe came home from work sick on Tuesday so we all soaked up cuddle time on the couch.

Joe was home sick Wednesday too so we had another lazy day.

For supper I was craving some sort of chicken/rice mixture so we ran to the store and got some ingredients and whipped it up.

Some more cuddles while our food was cooking...

I'll share the recipe soon, it turned out delicious!

Aand we finished off our day with more cuddles and movies.

How we started off Thursday.

I did my mother in laws hair in the morning and then did some things around the house.

Joe trained Thursday night and I was bored...so I decided to start working on our Christmas cards because...why not🤷‍♀️.

I ended up getting about 90% of them done! This has been a goal this year, I've been buying about 1-2 presents a month or at least putting money away towards them, planning gifts, decor, etc. so I'm even less stressed when it comes close to Christmas time, little things like this will be finished and I can spend more time enjoying the season!

Testing outfits for our family pictures Saturday, this one didn't win but I do love how it looks together!

After bath time cuddles Friday morning...💙

After I gave them baths I did a few things around the house and then ran to Des Moines in the afternoon.

First stop was Style Encore, I didn't find anything for family pictures but I found a really cute sleeveless top for $3!
Then I went to Maurices and found a cute top and jeans, the top was on sale too!
Then I ran by Costco, thinking if I was there in the afternoon it wouldn't be too bad...boy was I wrong😬.

After Costco I ran to the mall to get some pretzels...I am soo addicted to these thing!

A couple of the cute things I found at Target...

Im so going to need one of those coolers! and who remembers these makeup cases?? I totally feel like I need one again😂.

Joe doesn't see how this is a necessity...but it totally is!

I didn't get these shorts but they were sooo comfy! I'm going to go back and get them, I got this tank top and one in orange and I love them!

I'm loving this top, I'm going to go back and get this one too.

I made it back to town just in time to get Joe from work.

Dublin doesn't play much anymore...but when he does he's so darn cute I always have to get a picture.

For how energetic this guy is, It takes him a couple hours to finally get up and around in the mornings😂.

Saturday I got some things done around the house in the morning and took my time getting ready for our family pictures with Joes mom that afternoon.

Trying to help me decide what makeup to wear.

We had such a great time for pictures! The girl that took them (Black Cat Photography) works with Joe and she was so accommodating, We did them at Joes moms so all of the dogs were more comfortable and she made us feel so relaxed the whole time!

(One of the bloopers)

I'm telling you I'm having such a hard time deciding which ones I want to get printed off and hung up!

After pictures we ran home quick to change and then headed to the next stop for the day.
We went to eat at Percussions with Joes mom, my brother, and a friend before we headed out to the first bike night out at the Casino.
I got a personal pan Northern lights pizza 😋.

Ran into my cousin and her husband!

Joe's uncle Donny getting his sweet tea strapped in real good😂.

Afterwards we rode up to my parents new house with my brother, It was so cold by then I made mom drive me back into town😌.
Showing a little progress on the kitchen, it ended up being a lot more work than they thought they'd need to do but I love how its turning out!

End of the night cuddles.

I think this is such a good reminder for all of us...If I start to think of all of the "what ifs" that could happen with my health it starts to get a little overwhelming...which is why I keep quotes or verses like this around to keep me positive😊.

National Peanut Butter Day

In honor of National peanut butter day coming up this Sunday the 24th, I thought I would share my favorite  peanut butter recipes from the blog.  I don’t know about you, but I never need an excuse for peanut butter, BUT I do love using these National (insert whatever here) day as a fun way to celebrate some of my favorite things.  To start us off I’ll share my favorite first! This is a little generic and certainly not all about peanut butter but my favorite is definitely  Chocolate Nobake Cookies (with peanut butter of course). And now for the rest in really no particular order because I couldn’t possibly decide between them all🤷‍♀️. Peanut blossoms   Peanut butter cookies Peanut butter sandwich cookies Peanut butter bars -  Chocolate peanut butter bars   Chocolate scotcheroos  Chocolate peanut butter fudge  Peanut butter cups  Chocolate peanut butter pie  Peanut butter popcorn And lastly...if you want peanut butter but with a li...

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper To get started you're going to turn your instant pot to the sauce feature. When it shows "Hot" on the display you're ready to add your olive oil and hamburger. Throw in all of your seasonings and brown the hamburger. Once its browned, add the noodles and more seasonings. Then add the two cans of beef broth and try to push all the ingredients down so there's not too much sitting on the surface. Then set the instant pot to cook for 8 minutes and do a quick release. Add in your milk, cheese, and party dip or sour cream if you have it. Turn it back onto sauté and stir everything together until it's melted. And serve! I don't know about you guys...but in our opinion you can't have hamburger helper without some bread and butter to go along with it😉. Ingredients: 1lb hamburger 8 oz elbow noodles 2 14 oz cans beef broth  1/2 - 1 cup milk  8 oz shredded ch...

In honor of Crohn’s and Colitis awareness week I thought I would finally share an update on my health journey.

Highlands (Song of Ascent) O how high would I climb mountains If the mountains were where You hide O how far I’d scale the valleys If You graced the other side O how long have I chased rivers From lowly seas to where they rise Against the rush of grace descending From the source of its supply In the highlands and the heartache You’re neither more or less inclined I would search and stop at nothing You’re just not that hard to find So I will praise You on the mountain And I will praise You when the mountain’s in my way You’re the summit where my feet are So I will praise You in the valleys all the same No less God within the shadows No less faithful when the night leads me astray You’re the heaven where my heart is In the highlands and the heartache all the same O how far beneath Your glory Does Your kindness extend the path From where Your feet rest on the sunrise To where You sweep the sinner’s past O how fast would You come running If just to shadow me through the night Trace my step...
