Weekly Recap May 5th - 11th

A little Sunday morning sun bathing.

We ran to Walmart for a few things in the morning and I had to grab these, they are so addicting!

It was so beautiful out we decided to jump on the bike and ride over to Pella.

I've wanted to go to Tulip time over there for years and we're always busy the weekend it falls on. Even though we missed out on all of the activities it was still fun to see all the tulips bloomed!

pit stop at Hardees on the way home.

A little puppy cuddles were required when we got home.

Once we got home we did some more work on the garage, and by we I mean Joe🤷‍♀️.

We finished off the evening around the fire, it was the perfect ending to a busy weekend.

Monday...we started off the day a little slow.

My little sunbather...he hates being outside but when its nice and warm I can barely get him to come in, Thats definitely where the African bread comes in😂.

My ootd Monday, We stopped at Shopko in Chariton coming home Sunday since they were having going out of business sales, I got this top and capris for a total of $10!

I went and had lunch with Joe in the afternoon and then came home and did a few things around the house.

That side eye...😂.

Anything he can stand on and he's going too.

My brother came over for supper and we made up some grilled chicken sandwiches.
I had put my crockpot pork chops in the crockpot...and as good as they smelled and tasted...( I had to have a little taste test of course) It was so nice out I felt like grilling.
We picked up this garlic aioli at the downtown Hyvee awhile back and between using that and toasting the buns they seriously tasted like they were from a restaurant! It's definitely going to be in the regular rotation this summer.

How Dublin felt about getting up on Tuesday morning, who else can relate??

My ootd Tuesday, cute, comfy, and casual. My favorite kind of outfit!

I made up some cookies for Ronnie (the girl who did or family pictures Saturday) as a thank you, and maybe snitched a few along the way🤷‍♀️.

I ran the cookies out to Joe just at the end of his lunch and then came home and made myself my lunch.

Leftover grilled chicken sandwich, I toasted the bun and added the aioli and it tasted just as good as the first time!

Sweet puppy cuddles.

Daddy was missed.

Joe made me a egg and little smokey sandwich for supper, does anyone else do this?? I think they're soo good.

Hoping I'll share a little of my sandwich...I didn't.

My ootd Wednesday.

I ran and tanned in the morning and then came home to get a few things done before I headed to Des Moines.

I ran a couple errands and then went to pick up my momma for lunch.

We had lunch with our old boss and area rep from Us Cellular, it was so nice seeing them!

Afterwards I had just enough time to get back and pick Joe up from work but decided to make a quick stop at Starbucks before I left town.

I ended up running into my best friends husband and his sister! They moved down to Kansas a few months ago so it was such a fun surprise!

Joe had gym Thursday night so I sat outside and kept them company until I was too cold😬.

I ate my subway sandwich and cookie while I watched them workout...🤷‍♀️😂.
Does anyone else do this with there sandwiches?? I think it just makes them perfect.

Obviously cuddles were needed after not getting attention all day.

Ootd Thursday

Thursday morning I ran down to Leon with my grandma to help her and my parents pick out some flooring for the new house, then when I got back to town I did a few things around the house.

One of those things was cleaning out the fridge...someone got caught red handed...You can't look so innocent when you have gravy on your face from getting into the trash😂.

Then he tried again right in front of me...😏.

I wasn't feeling that great Thursday so the rest of the afternoon I relaxed in bed catching up on some Matlock.

Never a dull moment...

When Joe got home he made me some biscuits and gravy for supper, My cousin recommended the honey butter biscuits and they were soo good!

Clearly not impressed with me.

My ootd Friday.

Friday morning I went to tan and then ran a couple errands.

Once I got home I got to work getting a few things put together for Saturday, one of them was baking some loaves of banana bread, soo yummy😋.

And some more sugar cookies. If you're looking for an easy yummy sugar cookie recipe look at my holiday baking post.

Leftovers for supper and just as yummy as the first time.

That face....😂😂, just creeping on the neighbors.

Pure happiness having everyone in bed cuddling.

Saturday morning we headed to Leon to help my parents move...😩😩😩.

I'm so happy to have my parents so much closer to us...but I'm going to miss this house soo much, so many memories here💜💜.

Just supervising everyones unpacking at the new house.

This is such a good reminder for all of us...What if we stopped living for the weekend or the "next best thing" and just enjoyed the moment we're in, living life intentionally in every moment.
I think if we all did that we'd be a lot happier!

Homemade Taco Seasoning

The other day I whipped up another batch of homemade taco seasoning that I’ve been making for years so I thought I would share it with you. It’s super easy, last a long time, and doesn’t have any of the icky preservatives, etc. Here’s the ingredients, 1/2 cup chili powder 3 Tablespoons cumin 1 Tablespoon salt 1 Tablespoon finely ground pepper 1 Tablespoon paprika 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder 2 teaspoons dried oregano Mix it all together and you’re good to go! To use, brown 1lb. hamburger,  then add 2 Tablespoons of the taco seasoning mix plus 1/3 cup water and simmer until liquid has thickened, about 1-2 minutes. I hope you enjoy!

Instant Pot Spaghetti

Instant Pot Spaghetti  Start by turning your instant pot to the sauté function, adding some olive oil and then once the screen says HOT add your hamburger and brown.  All of the spices I used. Once the hamburger is browned Turn the instant pot off. Once I turned the instant pot off I added the noodles, crisscrossing the noodles so they don't clump. Next I added the spaghetti sauce, water, and spices.  Then set the instant pot to manual for 10 minutes and did natural release. And finished product!  I turned the instant pot off, put the lid back on and let it cool a little once I mixed everything together. I used this for freezer meals. I was able to get 7 1 1/2 cup servings. I let these cool and then put them in the fridge and waited to put them in the freezer until the next day so it was completely cooled. Ingredients: Olive Oil 1 lb hamburger 2 jars pasta sauce 1 16oz box angel hair noodles 1 cup + 1 jar of Wa
