Party Supplies

I also love checking out the Target $1 spot, Dollar Tree, and of course Walmart and Dollar General.

Finding cute stuff for you guys finally made me ready to take down my Christmas decor😂.

The last several years I haven't decorated for Valentines because 1. I didn't feel well enough to take the Christmas decor down so quickly and 2. I just really didn't care lol
I'm so excited to dig out the stuff I have, get a few of the things I shared with you guys and check out some other stores to find some stuff.

Do you do anything for Valentines?
Growing up we would always have a "fancy" dinner. Mom would always get out the china, make a special meal and make cheesecake for dessert.

It depends year to year what Joe and I do, how much we spend, etc. but we always make sure we take that time to celebrate our love! It makes me so sad that alot of couples don't do anything. I realize everyone says its just a Hallmark holiday, etc. but why not take that as an excuse to have a fun date or something? We do things throughout the year, surprise each other with little gifts throughout the year, etc.
I encourage you to do something even if its something small for your spouse or significant other. Make them feel loved and special, it won't kill you I promise😉.

Most years I do something homemade even if I do get Joe an actual gift. I love to make homemade cards, I've done heart shaped cookie cakes, cookies, cupcakes, pancakes and so much more.

One year Joe made me heart shaped cinnamon rolls and dyed the frosting pink and did heart shaped eggs and bacon for breakfast.

Like I said, it doesn't have to be anything huge, and obviously I encourage you to do those things throughout the year, but its just fun to use it as an excuse to celebrate.

And if you have kiddos at home and can't go out on a date night, do something like my parents did and make it a family thing.

Happy Valentines Day!
XOXO

Homemade Taco Seasoning

The other day I whipped up another batch of homemade taco seasoning that I’ve been making for years so I thought I would share it with you. It’s super easy, last a long time, and doesn’t have any of the icky preservatives, etc. Here’s the ingredients, 1/2 cup chili powder 3 Tablespoons cumin 1 Tablespoon salt 1 Tablespoon finely ground pepper 1 Tablespoon paprika 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder 2 teaspoons dried oregano Mix it all together and you’re good to go! To use, brown 1lb. hamburger,  then add 2 Tablespoons of the taco seasoning mix plus 1/3 cup water and simmer until liquid has thickened, about 1-2 minutes. I hope you enjoy!

Instant Pot Spaghetti

Instant Pot Spaghetti  Start by turning your instant pot to the sauté function, adding some olive oil and then once the screen says HOT add your hamburger and brown.  All of the spices I used. Once the hamburger is browned Turn the instant pot off. Once I turned the instant pot off I added the noodles, crisscrossing the noodles so they don't clump. Next I added the spaghetti sauce, water, and spices.  Then set the instant pot to manual for 10 minutes and did natural release. And finished product!  I turned the instant pot off, put the lid back on and let it cool a little once I mixed everything together. I used this for freezer meals. I was able to get 7 1 1/2 cup servings. I let these cool and then put them in the fridge and waited to put them in the freezer until the next day so it was completely cooled. Ingredients: Olive Oil 1 lb hamburger 2 jars pasta sauce 1 16oz box angel hair noodles 1 cup + 1 jar of Wa
