Dessert Pizza
Ingredients:
Dough -
1 tsp instant yeast
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp hot water
1/3 cup milk, warmed
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp oil
1 1/4– 1 1/2 cups flour
Cinnamon Butter Topping -
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Crumb Topping -
- 1/2 cup plus 1/3 cup bread flour
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1/8 cup brown sugar 4 TBSP Softened (But not melted) Butter
Icing -
- 1 cups powdered sugar
- 2 TBS milk
- 1/4 tsp vanila
- 1 tsp butter
Directions:
- Combine yeast, sugar, hot water, and warm milk in a mixing bowl (I use a thermometer and make sure the temperature gets up to 110 degrees). Stir till yeast dissolves. Add salt and oil. Stir in one cup of the flour and mix well.
- Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead a couple times ( I used the dough hook in my kitchen aid)
- Cover, and let rest 15 minutes
- In a medium bowl, add the cold cubed butter, flour, and confectioners sugar. Using your hands, sift the flour over the butter and then start breaking down each cuce into pea-sized pieces. When done every ingredient should be well incorporated. (It is ok to have a few chunks.)
- Place in the refrigerator until ready to add the crumble.
- Roll or press out to a 12" circle on a lightly greased cookie sheet or pizza pan (We used our pizza stone).
- Melt together butter, sugar, and cinnamon in microwave for about 30 seconds. Stir. Use a pastry brush and brush on the crust.
- Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes or until crust is light brown.
- Mix Icing ingredients together.
- Let Rest for 5 minutes or so and drizzle the icing over the pizza (I put it in a ziplock bag and cut off the corner to drizzle).
