So I'm goin to attempt to do a weekly recap with a little insight on my day to day activities, we'll see how well I do! 😉
Weekly Recap - August 12th - 18th
Sunday we woke up in full on project mode, I worked on three different DIY projects throughout the day. I got one finished the chicken wire photo holder , My lamp refresh is finished and now I just need to find a lampshade I like, and I got my pumpkin sign half finished, its all ready for me to finish painting this week.
We ran to Walmart three different times throughout the day for forgotten items, I swear even when you make a list you always forget something!
While I was working on my projects outside Joe was having fun personalizing his new project...it's so fun to see him excited about it, he's wanted one of these cars for so many years (However long ago the first Fast and Furious movie came out and thats it...!).
Between projects we ran to the car wash so Joe could get his car ready to paint the wheels.
Once we were both done with outdoor projects I started on supper - mmm beef roast and potatoes.
While I worked on supper Joe worked on finishing up a drywall project in our dinning room (finished photo coming soon!).
We finished off the day by watching Super Troopers 2.
By we I mean Joe and my brother who stopped by and ended up staying for the whole movie, it's not exactly my style so I played on my iPad and relaxed.
We were both so tired from the day we were in bed by 8:30.
Monday I woke up super tired and worn out from being so active on Sunday, I'm still building up my muscle and strength so its fairly normal for me to be a little tired!
I was going to hang out with a friend in the afternoon so I took it easy and rested until then.
In the afternoon I headed up to Norwalk to visit!
My friend is due to have a baby girl in October so I got to see the progress on her nursery and all the cute baby clothes she's found already, There is nothing cuter than little tiny baby clothes 💜💜.
The rest of the time we just sat and caught up, It's been so nice being well enough to go "visiting" and nuture the relationships with friends that I haven't been able to in so long.
Later that night Joe and I headed to the lake and did a little fishing, it was such a beautiful night, so relaxing and a perfect way to end our day.
Tuesday I was still recovering a little bit so I took it easy for the most part.
In the morning I just did a few things around the house and gave Deegan a bath, that was enough work I would totally be excused from doing anything else the rest of the day! He is terrified of baths, and getting his nails cut...so its been like 3 months for his nails and probably over 8 months for his bath...I was totally slacking! we all made it through alive and he's nice and clean now😊.

I can't resist sweet puppy cuddles!

Tuesday I was still recovering a little bit so I took it easy for the most part.
Getting a bath is just so exhausting...
Ok so I'm still figuring out this whole mirror selfie thing...totally not my forte 😂 but heres my outfit of the day, super casual and comfy.
I ended up going and meeting Joe for lunch, he only gets a half hour so it was a quick trip but it's always nice to get that extra time in, once I left there I ran to Walmart to pick up a few things (Uhm I'm so mad at Walmart right now, the new Magnolia Journal came out today and they didn't have it in stock yet! 😠I'll get over it...and hopefully find one this week.)
These sweet boys were totally rocking the rainy day vibe.
When I got home from Walmart I made a quick cold meat sandwich (I know I know...I'm totally chef!) and got to work on the blog, I ended up working on the blog all afternoon and caught up on a couple new hallmark movies.
Date night outfit, it may be 80 some degrees out but I'm always cold indoors, I love this style lightweight button ups this time of year.
This was my first time wearing these Abercrombie jeans and oh my they are SO comfy! I will totally be ordering more.
When Joe got home we decided to have a date night and try out the Casino Buffet, its been a few years since we've been and it was so good!
I picked up the new Avengers Infinity War movie for Joe when I was at Walmart so thats how we ended the evening.
Wednesday I finally decided I couldn't take the headaches everyday anymore so I made a quick run to the chiropractor.
When I got up I got ready and did some cleaning before I left.
My Outfit of the day - I've never done the "boyfriend jeans" but let me tell you...they may not be the cutest but oh my, so comfy!
And of course you have my cute outfit and get to my feet. I had every intention of putting some cute shoes to match, but lets face it, anyone that knows me knows I'm a sandal girl😉.
This outfit was so perfect for running errands.
Our Chiropractor is in Waukee so once I got done with that I headed to the mall to pick up the new Magnolia Journal! Barnes and Noble never fails me, they had it.
I ended up picking up the new Fashion issue of In Style magazine as well, I can't wait to read them!
I can never pass up a good deal, and I knew Younkers was having amazing sales since they were closing down (13 days left!).
I ended up getting 2 shirts and 2 sweaters for $15! my bargain loving heart almost couldn't handle it!😆.
My photography skills are not the best, but here are the shirts! (Minus one thats a Christmas gift😉)
I'm so excited about the Christmas one and the two sweaters are so perfect to wear with leggings and boots this fall/winter.
After that I ran over to Ulta and picked up one of the new Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow pallets.
Such pretty colors! I can't wait to dive into this more, and another bargain...I had a $3.50 off coupon so I got it for $12.19!
Once I got home dad ran up and had me cut his hair, his payment was fixing our bathroom sink drain - pretty good trade if I say so myself😉.
Deegan thought he should supervise grandpa.
I finished off the day with an easy frozen pizza (so nutritious I know) and Taledaga Nights with Joe.
Thursday I woke up energized and ready to get some things done around home, I love days like this!
Once I finished my shower and breakfast I got down to business.
I vacuumed and mopped all of the floors, cleaned counters, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, cleaned out the fridge, cleaned the bathroom, folded and put away laundry which then led to taking everything out and organizing both of our dressers and sorting Joe's hanging clothes by style and color (mine are already organized that way of course!), that led into re organizing my office space.
Our morning break from cleaning, Dublin loves to lay out and sun bathe, my black little baby not so much, he always ends up on the steps with me.
Then I ended up taking the dogs for a walk in the afternoon.
It started raining as soon as I was putting the dogs in the car...they were way to excited to not go so I ran back in the house, grabbed a hat, and we were ready to go!
Poor Dublin was not having it today...once the rain quite it was super humid and his old body doesn't do so well, but we all made it to the end.
When we got home I decided to clean the car out (way overdue!)
Can you see a pattern today? I was having a super hard time sitting down...Finally after the car and picking up a few more things around the house I decided to sit down and work on the blog a bit.
Friday I woke up and took the doggies on a walk.
Zoom in on Deegans face here...it cracks me up! poor mostly black dog can't stand the heat!
Ok ya'll...there are leaves on the ground, that means its fall right!?
The rest of Friday was a lazy day until that evening, I went and had dinner and a movie with my mom, best friend, her little sister, and her mom (moms best friend).
We went to the Iron Horse Bar and Grille here in town, I had the Chicken Alfredo and oh my it was SO delicious! and I'm seriously still kicking myself, I forgot my to go box with over half of the pasta at the restaurant and didn't realize until after the movie!
We went and saw Mama Mia 2 - such a cute movie!! we all went and saw the first Mama Mia together 10 years ago! it was so fun to be able to see the second one all together, it was such a great girls night.
Saturday was a fairly lazy day, Joe had to work until noon so the dogs and I cuddled up on the couch in the for a little bit in the morning and then I decided to hit up the coffee shop and run some breakfast to Joe on his morning break.
This guy my be a little maniac half the time but he is seriously the most cuddly puppy!
A couple photos from an afternoon spent outside.
Dublin could spend soo much time outside when its warm, he just soaks it up.
This guy...obviously ready for a nap!
So delicious! I get a caramel mocha with no whip and decaf (No caffeine right now until I'm in remission)
This perfectly sums up life with this guy.
In the afternoon Joe and I decided to get something to grill and go up to Lake Aquabi for a picnic. It was so beautiful that day, we turned our phones off and just focused on each other and our surroundings. I strongly encourage anyone to do this every once in awhile, its so great to be detached from electronics even if only for a couple hours!
I hope y'all had a great week and enjoy reading these recap post!
I wanted to leave you all with this quote I saw on the Magnolia instagram page this week, I found this so inspiring and something we should all remember!
Did you do anything fun? Let me know in the comments.
