Weekly Recap Sept 2nd - 15th

Weekly Recap

I've slacked on my weekly recap post...last week I started to have a Crohn's flare up so I've been pretty low key the last two weeks so we'll just do a fun highlight of the last few weeks and I'll get back on track next week!

Labor Day weekend Joe was sick so we just took it easy and relaxed around the house.
We did end up going to Des Moines that Saturday and did a little browsing around Homemakers (I worked there in Beauty School and man did I forget how delicious those cookies are!)

A few of the things I thought were super cute for fall, I'm going to try and recreate a few of the signs for our house. Did ya'll know that they sell the Magnolia Home Collection?? I had totally forgot that, there were a lot of cute pieces.
A few things I picked up at Target...Who else loves the dollar spot?? Although I gotta say...when they first came out with it, it really was the dollar spot but now its more like the $3 and $5 spot...just saying!
The pink acrylic drawers were clearance out for .75 cents!

They had this Display at Schools for Labor Day weekend, I thought it was a really neat idea!

A few of my ootd from the last few weeks!
Can you tell that I'm totally loving the darker blue jeans...?😆 Also the brown and camouflage shirt are the same just different colors, I have one in black too! They are seriously soo comfortable.

Guys...I may be just a little byist but aren't these guys so cute!? It was so hard to find just 6 photos to share with you😆

We FINALLY got to try Ardies BBQ. They're a food truck out of Leon, they come to Osceola once a week and I kept missing them😒. Seriously SO worth the wait...the best Pulled pork sandwich I have ever had! If you're in the area I would highly recommend trying them out.

A few of the yummy recipes Ive made the last few weeks.

Friday I finally started to feel human again so Joe and I decided to do a little target practicing that evening.

Over the weekend Joe worked on cleaning up the yard getting it ready for winter and I took advantage of him being outside to clean the house and do a little baking.

We had a little fire and roasted some hotdogs and marshmallows Saturday night, it was so relaxing and a perfect way to end the busy day.

And I'll leave you with a little inspirational quote...I definitely had a rough couple weeks with my flare up and going back on prednisone, I had to miss a few events I was so excited for due to being sick but I'm so thankful for having understanding friends and family and that I'm finally starting to feel a little better again.

I hope you all have a great week!
Let me know in the comments something you're thankful for💜.

Homemade Taco Seasoning

The other day I whipped up another batch of homemade taco seasoning that I’ve been making for years so I thought I would share it with you. It’s super easy, last a long time, and doesn’t have any of the icky preservatives, etc. Here’s the ingredients, 1/2 cup chili powder 3 Tablespoons cumin 1 Tablespoon salt 1 Tablespoon finely ground pepper 1 Tablespoon paprika 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder 2 teaspoons dried oregano Mix it all together and you’re good to go! To use, brown 1lb. hamburger,  then add 2 Tablespoons of the taco seasoning mix plus 1/3 cup water and simmer until liquid has thickened, about 1-2 minutes. I hope you enjoy!

Instant Pot Spaghetti

Instant Pot Spaghetti  Start by turning your instant pot to the sauté function, adding some olive oil and then once the screen says HOT add your hamburger and brown.  All of the spices I used. Once the hamburger is browned Turn the instant pot off. Once I turned the instant pot off I added the noodles, crisscrossing the noodles so they don't clump. Next I added the spaghetti sauce, water, and spices.  Then set the instant pot to manual for 10 minutes and did natural release. And finished product!  I turned the instant pot off, put the lid back on and let it cool a little once I mixed everything together. I used this for freezer meals. I was able to get 7 1 1/2 cup servings. I let these cool and then put them in the fridge and waited to put them in the freezer until the next day so it was completely cooled. Ingredients: Olive Oil 1 lb hamburger 2 jars pasta sauce 1 16oz box angel hair noodles 1 cup + 1 jar of Wa
