Weekly Recap October 14th - 20th

My ootd for Sunday (Note Dublin hiding behind me😉).

We got up Sunday morning and headed to church.
After church we headed to Des Moines to eat and, get some groceries and browse around a few stores.
Guys...it SNOWED in Des Moines!! we were so excited, probably the only people that were😂.

We decided to try out the new Wahlburgers in Des Moines and my gosh it was so amazing! great service, prices and food, we'll definitely be making it a regular stop!

Naturally you need to listen to Christmas music for the first snow...

We finished the evening with a little creme dementh dessert and some blue bloods, if you've never had this dessert or never heard of it you're SERIOUSLY missing out I'll post the recipe soon because really everyone needs to have this in there lives.
Sometimes you just need to hold on real tight and have mommy cuddles...💙.

Monday I had a long list of things I wanted to get done.
First things first was getting these yummy biscuits baked for our biscuits and gravy for supper, if you don't already have this cookbook you seriously need to invest in it!

The rest of the day I got things done around the house, did some organizing, and some work on the computer.

I started going through my clothes to get rid of things...does anyone get out all of there clothes for the  season and realize you don't like ANY of them?? because thats seriously how I feel right now😂 the pile to get rid of is rapidly getting bigger.

Oh I also started a new show...I finished Bones awhile back and have been in need for a new series! I decided to try out NCIS an oldie but a goodie I hope, I'm always up for suggestions for shows!

My ootd for Tuesday - I've owned this gap sweater for over 4 years! As I get older I'm learning to invest in pieces I love as I'll have them so much longer than the pieces I buy just because they're on sale (Don't get me wrong...I still shop for bargains. I spotted this sweater in the store and wasn't willing to pay full price, I watched it until it went on clearance and then snatched it up!)
The left photo would be the face of a satisfied dog that ate a half a container of peanut butter while I was running errands...the right would be the face of the dog that was trying to butter me up after getting in trouble😂.

Joe was hosting bible study Tuesday night so the house needed to be SPOTLESS.
Joe tells me all the time that guys don't care what our house looks like but I can't help it...if I know people are coming over it needs to be perfect, I keep it clean anyways but does anyone else go that extra mile when they know people are coming??

They ended up doing it outside around the fire since it was so nice so I took advantage of that time to whip up a batch of Kringla. If you haven't tried this before you're seriously missing out! its a slightly sweet cookie which makes you feel like you can it a lot more than you should😂. I'll post the recipe soon.

My ootd for Wednesday.
A little fun fact about Dublin, He's had to pose with us so much over the years that he knows when we're getting our photo taken and will come over and pose with you, its the cutest thing!

Picture overload 3. 2. 1....

It was so beautiful out Wednesday so I decided to take Deegan to walk the trail.
Dublins starting to have hip problems 😔 so I've started walking them separately since he can't go as far as Deegan, When I got home from taking Deegan I took Dublin down the street a few blocks and that was plenty for him.
I think its good for them to have one on one time and its great for me to get a little more exercise!
The face of pure exhaustion after his little walk...notice the peanut butter on his lips and nose??😂.

By mid afternoon I wasn't feeling that great, one of the things that comes with Crohn's is I don't know if I overdid it with our walks or something I ate, its a mystery....😑 so I decided to take it easy the rest of the day, I'm definitely still learning how to have a good balance...I tend to go go go and then drop!

I'm so glad I had my instant pot spaghetti freezer meal thawed in the fridge for supper so all I had to do was throw it in the oven for supper.

I ended up going to bed early and then slept till 10 on Thursday, apparently I needed the rest.

These two crack me up...they're always keeping me entertained!

My ootd on Thursday.

I relaxed most of the day until that evening and then I did moms hair, I miss hair so much so I love it when I get to get my fingers in someones hair and do something new, I gave her a fun fall color just in time for our family pictures next week.

I've had a lot of people ask if I'll go back to doing hair and I absolutely want too but they're still concerned about germs and me getting sick with being in such close quarters to so many people and my immune system being so low from my infusions, So for now I'm going to wait it out this winter, still work on getting better and getting into remission and do some soul searching and praying before I decide what the best decision is!
Some people I know would be so great about if they are sick canceling their appointment but not everyone is that way...or might not know that they're sick when they come in.

My ootd Friday

Friday once I got up and around I ran to get groceries - the new and improved Hy-vee opened back up today so I took advantage of all the sales (It reminds me of Publix when we lived in Florida and I loved it!! I'm usually a Faraway shopper but I don't know...It's definitely going to give them a run for there money!) Joe forgot his lunch and I was just finishing up shopping around his lunchtime so I checked out the new Hy-Vee gas station to get us some food.

I was craving a coffee drink and I'm out of my decaf coffee I like (Of course no where in town sells it! - No caffeine with crohn's) So I decided to try something from the new gas station.
I got half decaf coffee, half hot chocolate and added 3 hazelnut creamers - it was so delicious!

By the time I got home and got everything unloaded I felt like I'd already lost so much of the day! Does anyone else feel like that? sometimes I feel like the days go so slow and then others I blink and its already afternoon!

You can see just a hint of Dublin in the top right corner of the right picture😂.
This one is all about the kisses, all the time!

Ok...I'm done with the dog photos now😊.

I finished up my Fall Planner post in the afternoon - nothing like procrastination!

I also ordered tickets for this in December! I am SO excited!
Those of you that know me well know how much I LOVE the movie White Christmas.
It's going to be playing at Jordan Creek Theater two different dates in December.

When I was watching Kathy Lee and Hoda Friday morning they were talking about some products that give back to breast cancer charities and I thought I'd share with you what they talked about!
Heres the link that shows everything, They would make some great Christmas gift ideas.

Joe and I decided to go get some Northern Lights pizza for dinner and then finished the night watching this weeks episode of the new Magnum PI - Has anyone else watched this yet?? We love it!

My ootd Saturday - I am seriously loving these $8 Henleys from Walmart! they are so comfy.

Once I got up and around I got supper in the crockpot - Cheesy Ham and Potato soup, This is my first time making it so if it turns out I'll share the recipe😉.

After taking 20 minutes to make the bed because these two wanted to play I gave them some peanut butter in their Kongs to keep them distracted for awhile so I could get some things done.

Dublin takes his peanut butter time very seriously 😂

Once I got some things done around the house I baked some Halloween sugar cookies - I usually frost them but I was having some fun with the sprinkles!

A little afternoon cuddle time.

The soup turned out! This will definitely make it into the regular rotation.

How our evening ended...Watching tv and doggie cuddles!

Have you done this?? certainly something to think about...Make your list and go do something today that makes you happy!

National Peanut Butter Day

In honor of National peanut butter day coming up this Sunday the 24th, I thought I would share my favorite  peanut butter recipes from the blog.  I don’t know about you, but I never need an excuse for peanut butter, BUT I do love using these National (insert whatever here) day as a fun way to celebrate some of my favorite things.  To start us off I’ll share my favorite first! This is a little generic and certainly not all about peanut butter but my favorite is definitely  Chocolate Nobake Cookies (with peanut butter of course). And now for the rest in really no particular order because I couldn’t possibly decide between them all🤷‍♀️. Homemade Taco Seasoning

The other day I whipped up another batch of homemade taco seasoning that I’ve been making for years so I thought I would share it with you. It’s super easy, last a long time, and doesn’t have any of the icky preservatives, etc. Here’s the ingredients, 1/2 cup chili powder 3 Tablespoons cumin 1 Tablespoon salt 1 Tablespoon finely ground pepper 1 Tablespoon paprika 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder 2 teaspoons dried oregano Mix it all together and you’re good to go! To use, brown 1lb. hamburger,  then add 2 Tablespoons of the taco seasoning mix plus 1/3 cup water and simmer until liquid has thickened, about 1-2 minutes. I hope you enjoy!

Instant Pot Spaghetti

Instant Pot Spaghetti  Start by turning your instant pot to the sauté function, adding some olive oil and then once the screen says HOT add your hamburger and brown.  All of the spices I used. Once the hamburger is browned Turn the instant pot off. Once I turned the instant pot off I added the noodles, crisscrossing the noodles so they don't clump. Next I added the spaghetti sauce, water, and spices.  Then set the instant pot to manual for 10 minutes and did natural release. And finished product!  I turned the instant pot off, put the lid back on and let it cool a little once I mixed everything together. I used this for freezer meals. I was able to get 7 1 1/2 cup servings. I let these cool and then put them in the fridge and waited to put them in the freezer until the next day so it was completely cooled. Ingredients: Olive Oil 1 lb hamburger 2 jars pasta sauce 1 16oz box angel hair noodles 1 cup + 1 jar of Wa
