Weekly Recap October 7th - 13th

Weekly Recap October 7th - 13th

Sunday we slept in and decided to have a lazy day (that seems to be a pattern for us😂).

These babies were loving the couch cuddles.

We ended up watching movies and snacking all day and it was the perfect way to recoup from the weekend!

I picked up this amazing smelling candle at a cute little store called Main Street Brick House when I was down in Leon Saturday and had it burning Sunday, I am so hooked, I will definitely have to get more from there.

Monday I started off the day by cleaning for my Grandma in the morning and then came home and did a few things around the house before getting a few projects done.

My Monday night plans consisted of yummy leftovers and the new Garage Sale Mysteries movie, perfect way to end the day.

My ootd for Tuesday, comfy and casual!
I took it easy most of the day Tuesday since I had a busy day Wednesday.

I had a Drs appointment Wednesday afternoon so I got up and got some things done around the house and got ready to go in the morning.
my ootd for Wednesday I decided to get the curling out and have a little fun with my hair and this was the perfect outfit for running around.

I had a great checkup with my Crohn's doctor and got the ok to start tapering the prednisone off again (YAY!!).

After my Dr's appointment we ran to Lowes to price carpet for our bedrooms and may have gotten a little sidetracked by all of the Christmas decor...😊.

I LOVE the snowflake holder, I'll definitely be going back to get that, you could easily leave it up all winter. I thought the jack and the box was such fun throwback and oh my gosh they have the most beautiful bulbs!

Aren't these headbands so cute!? I feel like we need them for a fun Christmas photo😉.

After Lowes we ran to Michaels, they were having 60% off fall plus an extra 25% off that! I was super proud of myself for only getting the few things I did 😂.
They were definitely picked over by the time I got there but I did find a couple cute things, I'm a sucker for candles, cookie cutters, and pens...I'd been needing a couple ramekins and got these for .60 cents! and thought these Happy Thanksgiving would be perfect since we're hosting.

Isn't this little guy so cute!? I didn't have any halloween decor for the bathroom, he's small so he fits perfectly on the counter.

After that we ran to Walmart and browsed around to kill time before our dinner for my brothers birthday.
Aren't these mini trees so cute? I'll definitely be picking some up to decorate with.

Texas Roadhouse for Chris' Birthday Dinner, I can never get enough of those rolls!

My ootd for Thursday, I was so exhausted from all the running around Wednesday about all I got done was a comfy outfit and picking up the house, the pups and I spent the rest of the day working on the computer and cuddling under the heated blanket!

Such pretty boys😊.

My ootd for Friday
I scored this sweater when Younkers was having there going out of business sale for $8! I love a good deal😉.

This is how Dublin and Deegan feel about our cold rainy weather we're having...I'm totally with them, although I'm super jealous Des Moines actually had some flurries Friday morning!

I started out the day by cleaning - I love to get everything picked up, vacuumed and mopped on Fridays so I don't have to worry about doing anything over the weekend especially when we're on the go.

Sometimes you just have to eat like a 5 year old...and that's exactly what we did Friday night!😂

Saturday Morning we headed down to my parents for Joe to help them do some projects outside.
They love going to grandpa and grandmas💚.

I worked on some printables for my Christmas binder (coming to you soon!)

And handled lunch since everyone else was working out in the cold.
When everyone wants something different...two different types of sloppy joes and plain hamburgers it is.

I spent the rest of the afternoon visiting with mom and dad while Joe went hunting for a couple hours, it was such a great way to end the week!

Something to keep in mind as you head into your week😊.

National Peanut Butter Day

In honor of National peanut butter day coming up this Sunday the 24th, I thought I would share my favorite  peanut butter recipes from the blog.  I don’t know about you, but I never need an excuse for peanut butter, BUT I do love using these National (insert whatever here) day as a fun way to celebrate some of my favorite things.  To start us off I’ll share my favorite first! This is a little generic and certainly not all about peanut butter but my favorite is definitely  Chocolate Nobake Cookies (with peanut butter of course). And now for the rest in really no particular order because I couldn’t possibly decide between them all🤷‍♀️. Peanut blossoms   Peanut butter cookies Peanut butter sandwich cookies Peanut butter bars -  Chocolate peanut butter bars   Chocolate scotcheroos  Chocolate peanut butter fudge  Peanut butter cups  Chocolate peanut butter pie  Peanut butter popcorn And lastly...if you want peanut butter but with a li...

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper To get started you're going to turn your instant pot to the sauce feature. When it shows "Hot" on the display you're ready to add your olive oil and hamburger. Throw in all of your seasonings and brown the hamburger. Once its browned, add the noodles and more seasonings. Then add the two cans of beef broth and try to push all the ingredients down so there's not too much sitting on the surface. Then set the instant pot to cook for 8 minutes and do a quick release. Add in your milk, cheese, and party dip or sour cream if you have it. Turn it back onto sauté and stir everything together until it's melted. And serve! I don't know about you guys...but in our opinion you can't have hamburger helper without some bread and butter to go along with it😉. Ingredients: 1lb hamburger 8 oz elbow noodles 2 14 oz cans beef broth  1/2 - 1 cup milk  8 oz shredded ch...

Life update + some new projects

Lifish update I’ll do a full “anniversary post” in July but I’ve just had a lot of thoughts lately about life, crohns, everything. To be honest I’ve had a lot of confusion and even discouragement which is not normally me. I’m coming up on two years and while I’m no where near how I was two years ago (I mean that was pretty bad...😳) I’m also nowhere near where I thought I would be, I remember thinking that on the year anniversary too and I kind of think that feeling has just progressed since then😕. I’m no better than I was 8 months ago to be completely honest with you and in some ways may or worse? I am so so thankful to have a diagnosis and know what’s wrong with me, but with that I thought would come answers and healing. I’ve had some answers and some healing of course, but there’s still really a lot of unknown! In the beginning I used to talk about finding my “new normal” well I’m here to tell you 2 years later I still haven’t found it😂. Learning to navigate something new ...
