Weekly Recap September 23rd - 29th

Weekly Recap

Joe sent me these snapchats of Deegan Sunday morning💚💚.

Sunday we hit the ground running!
We Started the day with some yard work and then moved on to a few different projects.
Joes starting the process of building us a new dinning room table so while he worked on that I started cleaning out and organizing the garage (You know when you drive by those houses and they have there garage door opened and you're appalled that anyone would let there garage get that full of junk...yeah that's us...its basically my "Monica Closet" 😆😆 (If you've watched friends you'll get that reference😉), I made a tiny little dent in it but I already feel better about the progress!

I went to lunch with my mom, our old boss, and our old area supervisor for Us Cellular, I hadn't seen our old supervisor in years so it was so fun to catch up with them!

When I got home I went right back into project mode until it started getting dark.

Monday I started the day by picking up the house and started in on making lasagna for dinner (and freezer meals) I didn't have enough cheese so once I got done browning the meat I took a break and ran to the vet to pick up meds for the doggie (Deegan ear infection and Dublin hip supplements).

It was so beautiful out! I took Deegan for a walk at the trail  - poor Dublin got to stay home he went tearing around the yard Sunday and hurt his hip!😞 I felt so bad for him but I kind think he probably liked having time to himself without Deegan pestering him😂.

After our walk I ran and picked up a couple things at the store and had lunch with Joe, when I got back home I finished up the lasagnas.

While I was working in the kitchen Deegan came wondering in with my pajama pants on his back😂😂 I have no idea how he managed that but it was so cute.

Once I finished up the lasagna I mixed up some sugar cookie dough to make cookies on Wednesday, I love spacing it out so it doesn't end up being so much work for me in one day.

I spent a couple hours outside with the dogs in the afternoon working on the computer, we couldn't get enough of the nice day!

Our delicious dinner...Joes with hot sauce mine without😂, it was so nice that I just had to throw it on the oven since I'd put it all together earlier in the day.

Later on in the day I worked on some signs for my Etsy page and started a new one to put in my yard for halloween.
heres a little sneak peak...can you take any guesses??

I finished the day watching a little bones and relaxing.

Tuesday I had every intention of taking it easy and taking advantage of the rainy day...Thanks to the prednisone I was up at 7:00 ready to rock! Apparently I needed to do a little fall cleaning cause the entire house got a once over, it feels so good to have it nice and clean now.

After I got done cleaning I got the cookies baked up, making sugar cookies is seriously one of my favorite things! not only because they taste delicious...I enjoy the process of baking and decorating them, My parents are having a harvest party next weekend so I went ahead and baked them and stuck them in the freezer, I'll take them out next Thursday and Frost them Friday.

These are two gallon jars...I have a serious problem with sprinkles and cookie cutters!😂.

My ootd...as the day went on the flip flops switched to uggs and I had to add a sweater, ahh...I seriously love fall💙.

In the afternoon I did some computer work and a little more cleaning and organizing here and there.

Mom came over to bake some cakes for the Harvest party Tuesday night (she does the same thing I do with cookies and makes them ahead and freezes them - thats where I got the idea!)

Wednesday I had every intention of trying to rest...That didn't happen 😏 I was able to sleep in after being up all night (Thank you prednisone).

My ootd (or two😉)

I got the sweater on there right at Walmart and had to put it on as soon as I got home from the store, I'm probably going to live in it all winter!

I got a bunch of work done on the computer and then started in on supper in the afternoon, I can't wait to share this new recipe with you, it turned out too good!
A little sneak peak...please excuse my photography skills, Im definitely no expert! 😆.

When I was getting something out of the cupboard to use for the chicken I found some halloween cupcake liners, so naturally I needed to make cupcakes! I whipped up a batch quick for dessert.

We ended the night by watching some Superior Donuts (So funny, if you haven't watched it definitely look it up).

Thursday I started my day by doing a little work on the computer and then I headed over to a friends house and spent the afternoon, we had such a great time catching up.
We went and had lunch at Panera, I hadn't eaten there other than bagels in years and oh my gosh it was so good and definitely a new favorite. I had the pick two and got Mac and cheese and a turkey panini.

When I got home from her house I was so glad I had yummy leftovers to heat up and didn't have to do any work😊.

After dinner Joe kept me company outside while I worked on some DIY projects and I finished up this cute sign!

My ootd Friday, I've basically been living in this sweater from Walmart! and these shoes will be on repeat all winter, I don't know why I bother buying other shoes, I always end up wearing my uggs all winter long.

You guys...I'm normally only an occasional coffee drinker...but I finally mastered the brother on my ninja and this weather has me wanting to make a latte every day!😂.

I worked more on a DIY project and then spent the rest of the day relaxing.

Joe went hunting with my brother Friday night so I warmed up some chicken soup and watched some Last Man Standing reruns until the new one came on!

Joe had to work in the morning on Saturday so did some house cleaning and then we headed up to the Craft Show at the fairgrounds in Des Moines with my Mom, Dad, and Brother, this was the first time we had ever gone and it was so much fun! I found some fun ideas and a few gift idea's I'll be getting for people for Christmas.

My brother testing out the cigar box guitar.

We had a great time and will definitely go back to the next one in November!

After we finished up there we all headed to Red Robin to have dinner together.

Joe and I made a Trader Joes run after we ate. I hadn't been there in so long, I forgot how much I love it! Heres a few things we picked up. Whats your favorite Trader Joes picks??

We were both beat by the time we got home so we had an early bedtime!

I'll leave you a little Wisdom from a pumpkin to start your week off right😉.

National Peanut Butter Day

In honor of National peanut butter day coming up this Sunday the 24th, I thought I would share my favorite  peanut butter recipes from the blog.  I don’t know about you, but I never need an excuse for peanut butter, BUT I do love using these National (insert whatever here) day as a fun way to celebrate some of my favorite things.  To start us off I’ll share my favorite first! This is a little generic and certainly not all about peanut butter but my favorite is definitely  Chocolate Nobake Cookies (with peanut butter of course). And now for the rest in really no particular order because I couldn’t possibly decide between them all🤷‍♀️. Peanut blossoms   Peanut butter cookies Peanut butter sandwich cookies Peanut butter bars -  Chocolate peanut butter bars   Chocolate scotcheroos  Chocolate peanut butter fudge  Peanut butter cups  Chocolate peanut butter pie  Peanut butter popcorn And lastly...if you want peanut butter but with a li...

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper To get started you're going to turn your instant pot to the sauce feature. When it shows "Hot" on the display you're ready to add your olive oil and hamburger. Throw in all of your seasonings and brown the hamburger. Once its browned, add the noodles and more seasonings. Then add the two cans of beef broth and try to push all the ingredients down so there's not too much sitting on the surface. Then set the instant pot to cook for 8 minutes and do a quick release. Add in your milk, cheese, and party dip or sour cream if you have it. Turn it back onto sauté and stir everything together until it's melted. And serve! I don't know about you guys...but in our opinion you can't have hamburger helper without some bread and butter to go along with it😉. Ingredients: 1lb hamburger 8 oz elbow noodles 2 14 oz cans beef broth  1/2 - 1 cup milk  8 oz shredded ch...

Life update + some new projects

Lifish update I’ll do a full “anniversary post” in July but I’ve just had a lot of thoughts lately about life, crohns, everything. To be honest I’ve had a lot of confusion and even discouragement which is not normally me. I’m coming up on two years and while I’m no where near how I was two years ago (I mean that was pretty bad...😳) I’m also nowhere near where I thought I would be, I remember thinking that on the year anniversary too and I kind of think that feeling has just progressed since then😕. I’m no better than I was 8 months ago to be completely honest with you and in some ways may or worse? I am so so thankful to have a diagnosis and know what’s wrong with me, but with that I thought would come answers and healing. I’ve had some answers and some healing of course, but there’s still really a lot of unknown! In the beginning I used to talk about finding my “new normal” well I’m here to tell you 2 years later I still haven’t found it😂. Learning to navigate something new ...
