Sunday I didn't have anywhere I needed to be so I just got some things done around the house, cuddled with the puppies, and watched Christmas movies, I was definitely recovering from such a long day Saturday so it was a perfect way to spend the day.
The guys after two loong days of hunting - My brother Chris, Joe, Joes brother Josh, and Joes dad Joe down at my parents.
Monday morning I got started on some of the Christmas cookies - I always bake my sugar cookies and freeze but this year I decided to try mixing my dough for the other cookies and freezing too to save me a little time the week of baking.
Puppy picture overload and I am so not ashamed!😂.
When Joe got home from work we whipped up a batch of chicken noodle soup (Ok we cheated...I had him pick up a rotisserie chicken at the store to save time but it was still delicious!)
I don't care how old you are...You're never to old for fun Christmas traditions, we always made paper chain countdowns growing up and Joe and I have continued that.
May you never be to old to enjoy the simple things😊.
We finished the night with a Muppet Christmas Carol - Well half of it...because we're old...and if we start a movie after 7 its not getting finished😂.
Tuesday morning I got some major cleaning done.
Does anyone else find it hard to embrace the season? Not only the season but just everyday moments...before you know it your day is over and you haven't connected or done the things you wanted.
Finally feeling better, my goal this year is to embrace the moments of the season...Starting with puzzles, games, etc.
So often I have the problem with out of sight out of mind, so I decided to set the games out in the dinning room so they're easily accessible, we see them everyday walking by and will hopefully get them out more.
I also did that with our Christmas movies, coloring books, craft projects, and the Bible so we see them and think of them.
Some mid afternoon cuddles.
Joe was cutting up deer meet and Dublin was so patiently waiting...
And Deegan was waiting for his to be served at the table😂.
Wednesday I worked on a few Christmas presents - I can't wait to share with you, they're turning out so cute!
Poor Dublin never has any personal space.
And he was letting me know I shouldn't be ignoring him...😏.
No explanation needed.
When Joe got off work we headed down to the public hunting south of here to see if he could catch a deer - he didn't but it was fun anyway.
When we got home he helped me whip up a few more batches of cookie dough.
Then we did some Christmas coloring, listened to Christmas music, and just sat at the table talking and disconnected, it was so wonderful and exactly what I was hoping for this season! the TV didn't even get turned on.
We finished our evening with our bible Advent.
Thursday morning I spent working on some blog post.
Oh my goodness who else loves this song?? and Pentatonix does such an amazing job.
After that I baked up a few batches of cookies to put in the freezer.
I believe in the liberal use of sprinkles...😊
These ones are all ready to be frosted!
My little helper..or beggar??
My momma got me this rolling pin back in 2013.
My delicious lunch, I could seriously eat chicken noodle soup every single day.
And I can't go a Christmas season without the peppermint ice cream!
I forgot to get any photos but Joes mom came over Thursday evening for soup and games, we had a great night.
My ootd Friday.
I Love these Christmas tree earrings I found at a craft show for .50 cents!
Waiting for daddy to get home.
So grumpy...
My ootd Saturday. Don't worry, I put real shoes on before I left the house😉.
I ran some errands, finished up getting a few more Christmas gifts, and did some cleaning around the house.
Joe and I's afternoon/evening project!
Some evening cuddles.
They were both very much ready for bed. (The blue blanket is heated, Deegan knows it and this is his spot every night!)
