Weekly Recap January 6th - 12th

Sunday

This guy cracks me up...

My ootd Sunday.

We opted for another family movie day from Redbox...There has actually been some good movies that have come out recently!
We rented the new Overboard remake and the movie Ready Player One. Joe watched Ready Player One, I wasn't too interested but he said it was worth buying.
Overboard was so funny and now we want to get the old one to compare.

I found a recipe for homemade Moons over my Hammy (Denny's - if you haven't had one you totally need too.)
He did great and it was delicious!

Evening cuddles.

Monday
Ootd.

Monday was infusion day...Joe left work early and we headed to Des Moines, I wasn't feeling that great before and usually don't after either but not feeling good beforehand made it that much worse...so we decided to head home afterwards, we did stop at Pancheros for dinner and then had to pick up a few things at Costco and headed home.

This is why we can't have nice things...Corelle plates supposedly only break if they land flat, apparently thats not the case anymore😬.

I took this of our tree Monday night...I'm one of those that likes to hold onto Christmas as long as possible and I just can't bring myself to take down my decor yet! I love seeing all of the glowing lights in the evening.

My great grandma passed away last week and when mom went to the visitation Monday evening she got some old family photos, she sent me this one of me and my grandma💜😊.

Tuesday

The day after my infusion is always a day of rest as I usually don't feel good...

The dogs can always tell when I'm not feeling well and take cuddling even more seriously than normal!

Wednesday

I started this week watching my friends baby 2 days a week now that she's gone back to work.
I love getting out of the house a couple days a week and baby cuddles are the perfect way to do so...It's a perfect task for me right now as I'm not up to working again (especially standing on my feet all day) and this is still relaxing enough but I feel like I'm doing something again.

Breakfast of champions...not really but it is so delicious! For those of you that can't do caffeine...I fill the cup half full with decaf coffee, then hot cocoa, then a few hazelnut creamers.

So sweet...Ambers doggies never make it too far from there little baby!

Hoping I'll share my sandwich...I've still been on my moons over my hammy kick, 3rd day in the row😂.

Thursday

My ootd Thursday.

We've been struggling to see if we need to either up my Remicade doses or move up the infusion a week or two.
granted I've been back on on the Entocort for about a week now so we're not sure which it was necessarily (I have to start paying close attention when I start going down hill to see for sure what we need to do) but I woke up today feeling much better and a lot more energy, Granted the energy usually runs out about midday its still much better than I've been the last few weeks...

I decided to take the doggies for a short walk (Last time I saw my Dr he told me I needed to start moving even if its slow paced to build my muscles back up - If I do have liver disease my muscles will deteriorate even quicker so I have to do everything I can to counteract that.
Dublin can't go far but he wasn't about to let Deegan go and not him so we went to the end of our block and he was satisfied!

After walks they got some peanut butter in their Kongs...I better be on their good side the rest of the day😉.

I heated up some leftover Cheesy ham and potato soup I had in the freezer for lunch then did some computer work all afternoon.

Afternoon cuddles from the puppies.

Friday

Friday I was up EARLY not even just early for me, early for anyone😉 4:30am!
I went and babysat Emmie for the morning.

And when I got home thought some cuddles and a nap were a must.

Friday night we headed to Des Moines for Joe's weigh in and then went out to Applebees with his cousin.

Saturday

We got lots of snow Friday and Saturday, my favorite!
We had to run down to Lamoni to pick up Joe's shirt order for his fight, Thankfully they'd gotten the interstate clear for the most part by then.

When we got home we had a few hours to kill so we all cuddled up on the couch and watched some NCIS.

Later in the afternoon we headed to Des Moines and made a pit stop at Valley West Mall.
I found some American Eagle jeans on clearance for only $25!! I forgot how amazing their jeans are...I'm cheap and they don't go on sale that often - or when they do they're all sold out by the time I get there!
We stopped at a few other stores in the mall and even got started on some Christmas presents!
My goal for this year is to spend a certain amount a month on Christmas gifts, gift cards to stores I'd buy gifts, or materials to make gifts, I took advantage of some sales and already have one purchased! It feels so great to know we're getting a jump start and not waiting until the last minute...

After that we headed to 7 Flags.

Never a normal picture when my brother is around😂.

This was such a sweet surprise from Joe when we picked up his order Saturday morning!

People always ask me how I can let Joe fight...
1. I knew he loved it when we started dating and I absolutely do not believe in making them change or quitting something they love once you get serious and think you have control of them...
2. How could you say no when you see the smile on his face when he wins a fight.
I may get super stressed and anxious before hand but thankfully they don't last long!

Mom and Dad stopped to let the dogs out on there way home and she sent me this photo😊.

After the fights we headed to Dennys with our brothers and a couple friends, we didn't get home till 1:00 in the morning and if you know us you know that is super late! 😂

National Peanut Butter Day

In honor of National peanut butter day coming up this Sunday the 24th, I thought I would share my favorite  peanut butter recipes from the blog.  I don’t know about you, but I never need an excuse for peanut butter, BUT I do love using these National (insert whatever here) day as a fun way to celebrate some of my favorite things.  To start us off I’ll share my favorite first! This is a little generic and certainly not all about peanut butter but my favorite is definitely  Chocolate Nobake Cookies (with peanut butter of course). And now for the rest in really no particular order because I couldn’t possibly decide between them all🤷‍♀️. Peanut blossoms   Peanut butter cookies Peanut butter sandwich cookies Peanut butter bars -  Chocolate peanut butter bars   Chocolate scotcheroos  Chocolate peanut butter fudge  Peanut butter cups  Chocolate peanut butter pie  Peanut butter popcorn And lastly...if you want peanut butter but with a li...

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper To get started you're going to turn your instant pot to the sauce feature. When it shows "Hot" on the display you're ready to add your olive oil and hamburger. Throw in all of your seasonings and brown the hamburger. Once its browned, add the noodles and more seasonings. Then add the two cans of beef broth and try to push all the ingredients down so there's not too much sitting on the surface. Then set the instant pot to cook for 8 minutes and do a quick release. Add in your milk, cheese, and party dip or sour cream if you have it. Turn it back onto sauté and stir everything together until it's melted. And serve! I don't know about you guys...but in our opinion you can't have hamburger helper without some bread and butter to go along with it😉. Ingredients: 1lb hamburger 8 oz elbow noodles 2 14 oz cans beef broth  1/2 - 1 cup milk  8 oz shredded ch...

Life update + some new projects

Lifish update I’ll do a full “anniversary post” in July but I’ve just had a lot of thoughts lately about life, crohns, everything. To be honest I’ve had a lot of confusion and even discouragement which is not normally me. I’m coming up on two years and while I’m no where near how I was two years ago (I mean that was pretty bad...😳) I’m also nowhere near where I thought I would be, I remember thinking that on the year anniversary too and I kind of think that feeling has just progressed since then😕. I’m no better than I was 8 months ago to be completely honest with you and in some ways may or worse? I am so so thankful to have a diagnosis and know what’s wrong with me, but with that I thought would come answers and healing. I’ve had some answers and some healing of course, but there’s still really a lot of unknown! In the beginning I used to talk about finding my “new normal” well I’m here to tell you 2 years later I still haven’t found it😂. Learning to navigate something new ...
