Bedroom Vision Board

I created this fun vision board for our bedroom to help get an idea of what we want and finally get to work on it.

Starting with the paint -
We'll have one wall as an "accent wall" that will be the greenish color.
The other 3 will be light gray and then I'm going to paint the dressers the pink color.

I found the ceiling fan, light, and drawer pulls at Lowes - The light is on sale for like $13 a piece and we're actually going to mount them on the wall above the bed like sconces.

The carpet is from Menards - It's nothing fancy but we have a small area of flooring that will actually even show the carpet so I'm not worried about getting anything too durable.

I found curtains already that I've hung - One is pink very similar to the one I have posted and the other is a fun pattern that will still go with the scheme of the room.

Joe's side of the bed is up against the wall so the little shelf with a ledge will be perfect for him to be able to put a bottle of water, his phone or whatever else on it.

The tall, long square shelves will work perfectly on my side of the bed, it can hold a few of the bedside necessities and some picture frames or cute decor also.

I found the throw and the pillow on the target website and I'll use those as inspiration to add to our bedding.

We already have two really nice gray bed spreads that I'm going to continue to use for awhile and eventually I might try to find one that has some of this color scheme in them but at least ours will still  go.

I LOVE the be still picture and want to recreate something similar to it to hang above the bed.

I can't wait to take you all along this journey with us!
The room was just kind of thrown together.
We never even finished painting before we moved in, we were in such a rush and just have an old rug from my parents right now.

We'll keep both dressers and just paint them as they're both in great shape and work perfectly fine for us.

The room is not big enough for an actual bed and head board so we won't need to do anything with that, I have a few fun decor pieces I'll probably add in when we're all done so all in all We should be able to do the whole room for a pretty low cost. I love the challenge of a small budget and doing things ourselves. I'll update you guys along the way and can't wait to show you the finished product!

Homemade Taco Seasoning

The other day I whipped up another batch of homemade taco seasoning that I’ve been making for years so I thought I would share it with you. It’s super easy, last a long time, and doesn’t have any of the icky preservatives, etc. Here’s the ingredients, 1/2 cup chili powder 3 Tablespoons cumin 1 Tablespoon salt 1 Tablespoon finely ground pepper 1 Tablespoon paprika 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder 2 teaspoons dried oregano Mix it all together and you’re good to go! To use, brown 1lb. hamburger,  then add 2 Tablespoons of the taco seasoning mix plus 1/3 cup water and simmer until liquid has thickened, about 1-2 minutes. I hope you enjoy!

Instant Pot Spaghetti

Instant Pot Spaghetti  Start by turning your instant pot to the sauté function, adding some olive oil and then once the screen says HOT add your hamburger and brown.  All of the spices I used. Once the hamburger is browned Turn the instant pot off. Once I turned the instant pot off I added the noodles, crisscrossing the noodles so they don't clump. Next I added the spaghetti sauce, water, and spices.  Then set the instant pot to manual for 10 minutes and did natural release. And finished product!  I turned the instant pot off, put the lid back on and let it cool a little once I mixed everything together. I used this for freezer meals. I was able to get 7 1 1/2 cup servings. I let these cool and then put them in the fridge and waited to put them in the freezer until the next day so it was completely cooled. Ingredients: Olive Oil 1 lb hamburger 2 jars pasta sauce 1 16oz box angel hair noodles 1 cup + 1 jar of Wa
