Weekly Recap August 4th - 10th

My brother sent me this Sunday morning and I gotta admit...I'm a little jealous of their view! They're basically in the country. Although we are in a pretty good spot being on the edge of town.

My ootd Sunday - This whole outfit cost me $27! I got the blue Hollister top at Stuff Etc NWT for $5, The light pink cami I got when Younkers was going out of business its Jessica Simpson for $3, The jeans I got at Goodwill for $16 they are 7 for all Man kind, and the sandals I got at Walmart on clearance for $3.

I seriously loved the sermon on Sunday. Look up Indianola Community Church and you can hear it as well!

Joes "niece" (It's his cousins little girl but they're basically like siblings) drew this for us in church and it was the cutest thing!

Before we ate I changed into some comfy clothes, Rocking my new fur mama tank top and express shorts.

After church we headed to my parents house to have Sunday dinner. I love that they're close enough to us now to be able to do things like this now.

We prepped roast, potatoes, and carrots in the Instant pot and then had mom get them started for us while we were at church.

And Deegan's spot. He's doing so great at leaving us alone while we're eating!

After lunch Joe, Chris, and I headed to the pool to relax, poor Joe lasted about 45 minutes before he started shielding himself from the sun😂.

After our pool time Dublin thought it was time for some cuddles and some kisses😂

Naturally Deegan thought he needed some cuddles too.

Grandma gave us a chair that would match our living room and we needed to bring our rug home that my mom power washed for us (Thanks to Deegan being very sick last week😬).

So Dublin got to ride back to the house with Grandma.

The top rug is the one mom power washed, the bottom is the one that hasn't been washed yet (But it has now😉) the difference is insane and a little gross😂 You don't realize how dirty something is until you see it next so something clean apparently. but we'll be doing this regularly now.

For supper we had pulled pork sandwiches using the leftover roast from lunch, it was so good!

I had some ice cream I'd gotten awhile back from the ice cream shop so we had some as dessert.

While eating dessert we decided to watch Chips, are you surprised by the fact that we didn't finish it?? I swear to finish a movie we would need to start it at like 3:00pm.

Of course we had some sweet puppy cuddles while watching the movie.

My ootd Monday - Including the baskets of clean laundry behind me...😏.

Dublin got to go for a car ride to Walmart with momma all by himself and he was soo happy! (Don't worry, the air was on full blast while I was in Walmart, he was totally fine) I bought them some treats so he got a couple before we headed back home. We're trying to teach Deegan it's ok to be by himself (without Dublin too) so this was a really good learning experience for him! He got plenty of lovins and treats to make up for it when we got home.

Monday was one of those days I just felt like I needed to throw the plans by the wayside and just relax...I don't do well at that and I really needed it so I headed up to my parents and spent some time in the pool awhile relaxing and it was exactly what I needed!

Now don't get me wrong...I did way to much cleaning and stuff when I got home...but at least I had a couple hours of totally relaxation.

I let the dogs hang out outside with me while I cleaned some stuff up in the driveway and backyard and this guy was living his best life when I filled his pool.

Daddy has exactly the perfect touch when giving ear drops, he barely even noticed!

Poor guy has such bad allergies during the summer😔.

You guys...granted this is just sitting on top of the tote and there are two coats in there...this was the keep pile from everything in the tote😩.

My ootd Tuesday- My top is from Target, shorts are express that I got at Style Encore, and my new shoes from Maurices that I'm actually going to return...I wasn't impressed with either pair.

I wanted to read back threw what pastor Jon went over in church Sunday to highlight a couple spots and it was a great way to start the day.

After going through and re situating some clothes this is what I had left of hanging tank tops, the rest that were more just tank tops and wouldn't get wrinkled I folded (Marie Kondo style - If you aren't familiar...Look her up!!) and was able to put in my dresser since I re folded that stuff the same way and got rid of a few more.

This is what I have left...Even after I went through and got rid of ALOT more...😩. I got rid of a ton but I still feel like there's too much. I'm slowly going to keep going through them, and I'll get a better idea this fall/winter as to what I actually wear. Whats left is anything I would walk out the door and where this very moment though.

After doing my makeup I had a few brushes that definitely needed cleaned, before I got this little scrubber thing to use I would just move onto the next until they were all dirty😂. I've done a lot better now cleaning them more often.

The pile of clothes from things I went through to get rid of today! I'm going to take them to Style Encore and then whatever they don't take I'll post to my Poshmark account.

For lunch I had leftover roast, potatoes, and carrots, It was just as yummy today!

I was going through clothes again so naturally these two are never far...Anytime you can't find Deegan, chances are he's in here rolling around scratching his back😂.

Joe went to Walmart to get what we needed for supper. I wasn't feeling so great so I wanted spaghetti and he was making Tacos. I hate having to much stuff sitting in the fridge (OCD much??) So while he was gone I put the leftovers in from the roast in food saver bags for leftovers later on. My favorite way to transfer leftovers to the bags is to put it in a cup like this, its soo much less messy!

I've seen this pasta sauce a lot and heard people talk about it before so I decided to grab it when I was at the grocery store awhile back, to be honest in my opinion its no better than prego or homemade...

Poor Deegan...Dublin loves to shred anything Deegan likes, You don't think a dog could possibly be that smart huh...Trust me, he is.

And surprisingly...like really surprisingly...as soon as we hit the bed Deegan was OUT. he's so cute when he's sleeping.

I’m gonna be honest with you guys...today’s one of those rough days with Crohn’s...people think it’s just your stomach and it’s so much more. When I woke up I was feeling pretty good but I normally am, it’s when I finish my shower I realize how exhausted I am and probably used up all of my spoons taking a shower (if you haven’t heard of the spoon theory you can read about it here, I highly recommend reading, It will really help you understand how it is for anyone with an autoimmune disease) it’s little things like that most people take for granted in their day to day lives, I know I always did. Even when that happens I still try to put on something cute, do my hair and makeup and try to move on with my day. But today was one of those days it just wasn’t happening...on top of the exhaustion my head was in a fog and I head a headache and pain from my nerves all day. A lot of people would say “oh you probably just didn’t eat right or get enough sleep, etc” but that’s not it. I actually are very well yesterday and got a great night sleep, got the proper amount of water intake, etc. but you have days it hits you out of nowhere with no explanation and this was one of them.

People ask me what it feels like to have Crohn’s (when you’re not in remission at least cause I wouldn’t know that yet) and the easiest way to explain it is I tell them it feels like when you have the flu. The body pains, stomach issues, brain fog, chills, etc. now I am getting to the point I don’t have ALL of those things every single day, but chances are I at least have a few of those symptoms each day

My ootd Wednesday - I got this top on clearance from Express like a year or two ago and its definitely one of my favorites even now, The shorts are the ones I got from Marshalls, the more I wear them the more I don't love them, but they get the job done. and my new favorite Walmart clearance sandals, and a little sneak peak of little Deegan between my legs.

One of my projects for the day was to FINALLY get these DVD's all organized.

It's not perfect...But at least pretty much everything is back in the case and mostly organized...We're actually going to start switching over to something like this to save storage space! I can't wait to get started.

So you know when you go on little random cleaning sprees?? This was one of them, As I was unloading the dishwasher and getting ready to put silverware away I realized how dirty the silverware tray was😬, So perfect time to clean!

After I finished that and folding and putting away a load of laundry (I'm trying to stay on top of it!) I went and saw Joe over his lunch break and then ran to Walmart for a couple things, and left with a couple more 🤷‍♀️.

Whoppers are self explanatory...They're delicious. The fabric I Got on clearance for 50 cents a piece an I will make dog bandanas out of them.

You know when you just have one of those days...I seem to be having a lot of them recently and today was no different. I went to make boiled eggs for Joe and when I poured the water in...I realized I hadn't put the pot in yet😒. Thankfully after wiping everything with a towel and getting it mostly dry it still worked! That was a relief...

I was SO excited to get this package in the mail today! a blogger I follow shared on her instagram HSN was having a deal where you got all of these for $40 which was already a great deal but then when I went to order I got another $10 off so I got all of these for $30! just one regular size is like $21 or something.

The other fabric that I bought last fall on clearance after Halloween, That's one of my projects this week!

Joe got off work early so before he had to get ready for gym we decided to run up to my parents and hang out in the pool for awhile to relax.

This is that floaty I got for $15 clearance at Walmart and I LOVE it!

My parents finally got the graphics put on the side of dads work van and it looks so nice! If you ever need a key cut, locks changed, or getting your car unlocked, Him and Joe are your guys!

When we got home I warmed up some spaghetti for supper.

Spaghetti, Garlic Bread, and getting caught up on my episodes of FBI.

And the last piece of creme de menthe dessert for dessert😩😩 It was bittersweet, till next year.

This dog...He kills me, I set his bowl to the left where you see all the food on the floor, apparently that wasn't the right spot, he had to move it to where he's currently eating.

My little sunbather eyeing mama...Rhodesian Ridgebacks are African hunting dogs, so Dublin would lay out in the sun for hours if I would let him.

The dogs and I settled into the couch on Thursday afternoon to cuddle and watch some tv

Have you guys seen the new show FBI on CBS? (I think its CBS...) I really like it and just finished up season 1, I suppose I need to check and see if there is going to be another season or not. It seems like every show I get into to gets canceled! (Just checked...It got picked up for season 2! So you guys should probably check it out)

My ootd Thursday - A little late😂 I bought the button up at Target a year or so ago on clearance for like $13, the blue t-shirt I got from American Eagle this winter for around $8 and then my new jeans I got from Hollister last week for $25!

But then the mail came right as we were headed to Des Moines.

I had just enough time to grab this shirt and put it on. I ordered it off amazon and love it!

We headed to my drs appointment and after that went to the mall for my appointment at Apple to fix my phone. We ended up having to wait 2 hours for them to fix it😬.

So we headed to take some clothes to Style Encore to sell, returned some shoes at Maurices (the sandals I bought, I wanted to love them but the quality wasn't amazing on the silver ones and the rose gold ones hurt my feet😞, don't let that deter you from buying shoes from them though, I've bought others in the past that were great!)

After that, we decided to go to Applebees to kill some extra time, They had $1 mai tai's so we each got one to start and they were so yummy! I had the bacon chicken sandwich and it was so good!

After that we ran to Sally's to pick up some wax sticks, made a pit stop at Starbucks and then headed back to the mall to pick up my phone.

They ended up giving me a new one, when they tried to replace the screen it cracked or something so I got a new one at no cost thanks to Apple Care!

My ootd Friday - I got this top on clearance for like $13 last winter at Target and its still a favorite, then my Hollister jeans I got for $25 awhile back and the $3 shoes from Walmart, It warmed up throughout the day so I switched to shorts but I loved that it was a little cooler in the morning (Maybe even a little fallish??)

I ran down to Leon to check out the inventory sale that Heidi was having for the coffee shop in Leon that closed.

Oh only in southern Iowa...😂

My finds!

She had everything priced so amazing I Found a lot of good deals. I love trying to make lattes at home (I'm still getting it down...) so I'm super excited to have some of the things that an actual coffee shop uses. I got the chocolate syrup, peppermint, and pumpkin spice, I also got a dark chocolate mix to make a frappe. The basket with the lid on the left I'm not entirely sure what I'll use for...but It was a great price and and came with some baskets too. the shelf in the middle with the little shelves I'm going to put in the kitchen and the cute wooden box on the right I'm going to get my brother to redo the straps to attach the lid and use it for the dogs toy box.

A better look at the straps, It's a good sized box and it shouldn't be too hard for my brother to cut me some new pieces to nail back in.

Soo I was so excited to open this box...and then I did...and realized I ordered 3 sizes too small😒. soo I got them sent back and thankfully they've already got the new ones sent back to me! It was actually a really easy process.

It's amazing the things you'll find in the bed when you're making it...This isn't too bad, I've found up to 5-6 before😂.

This was the kind of the day I was having Friday...We got home pretty late for us on Thursday night and I was up at 6:30 (But probably awake even earlier??) to get ready to head to Leon. I put Dublins collar on Deegan instead😂 then what makes it worse is even after I noticed that I still hooked Dublins leash onto his collar that was still on Deegan.

I made some toast for lunch, I thought I'd share with you the butter I've been using since I was in the hospital last year, It's one of the healthier alternatives if you can't do dairy as much.

I went to physical therapy and came home to find the dog container on its side...Good thing there wasn't really any food left in it😂.

Chewed on his kong till he got so tired he fell asleep 😂

This poor guy...3 days on prednisone and 2 days off and he's already gotten bumps on his head.

For a late snack I warmed up some garlic bread in the oven.

For supper Joe made me a taco with the tomato basil wraps I got this morning.

We watched All of my Heart - Its a Hallmark movie that we'd seen a few years ago and I found it on Amazon to order, Joe actually really likes this one too! I worked on the blog some too.

We ran out to Acquisitions Saturday morning for Joe to pick up a little tv he bought from Janene (the owner) for the garage. Joe's friends with and went to high school and college with one of her boys and raced out there when they had the race track so it's fun to visit with her!

She has such an amazing selection of products! A lot of really cool pieces.

This wooden box was out of my price range but I think I'm going to look for or make one similar to match the other box I got for toys.

I really like this little stand but its a little too tall for what I'm thinking but I think we're going to make one similar to it for a coffee table.

I love this little cabinet!! I'm thinking about going back if the measurements work out and get it for our bathroom.

How adorable is this?? It was be so cute for newborn pictures or a baptism.

I love these! If I had a spot to put them I would totally get one.

Make sure you stop out there and check it out! Its just west of town a few miles, you can't miss it! And then head out to harvest barn that's a couple miles to the west of this place.

When we got home this guy was all about the cuddles.

When we went out to Acqusitions I started having really bad trouble breathing thanks to the weather (it wasn't even that humid...)

So I was stuck inside all day...

I don't do well at resting...I was supposed to😏 but you know...

Joe and his dad were outside working on his dads motorcycle so I decided to start rearranging the office.

Such a good classic😂😂 and that stack of magazines...All ones I need to read😬.

The finished! It still Neds so much more work but this was a great start. I moved the locker onto the back porch to use as storage for tools, etc. I moved this stand from the living room into the office and its perfect for the printer to sit on. My Grandpa made me this stand years ago so its near and dear to me😊, I almost started painting (We didn't realize we hadn't finished painting it until months after we moved in...oops!) but I knew Joe wouldn't let me do that between my breathing and my nerve/shoulder problems but I think that will be a project soon (If I can choose a color)

We just stuck that board up there to have a shelf but we'll get one that goes the whole length and add another one above it. I love the long narrow with cubbies so I know that will stay. Anyways, It looks a lot better and a lot less cluttered which was what was bothering me so much.

I was able to get the printer off my toolbox and rearranged a few things in there to hold what the locker was. Joe got me this tool box quite a few years ago when he was still an automotive tech when they were running a special and I LOVE it!!

After I got done with that and decided I needed to stop...I thought I'd give Law and Order a try.

I decided to use some of my new chocolate (I need to get a pump for it!)

I used coconut milk, decaf coffee, chocolate sauce and what was left of the caramel sauce.

Uhmm...Can you get any close Deegan??

When Joe was done helping his dad We decided on Tatertot Casserole for supper (I put together the recipe we use for you guys) We ran and got the ingredients and got to work. My breathing finally got back to normal after 4-5 hours but I still wasn't feeling great so I tried to relax on the couch while Joe got supper done.

I got this stand for free a few years ago and I've used it outside as a fall display (hmm...I'm going to have to think of something new for that now!) but otherwise I had never really used it, its been sitting on the back porch for a few months but I got an idea the other day that It would work perfect in place of the other stand I moved into the office.

Joe dusted it off and then I took some pledge to it and it looks great! It still needs cleaned up a little more but I'm loving it! I love having something a little smaller in this spot.

I got the little clipboard thing at Michaels a few years ago and used at the salon and it works perfect right here with a picture of us in the spot where we got married😍.
