Weekly Recap - September 30th - October 6th

Sunday Joe and I had decided to just have a lazy day at home and it was so nice not having anywhere we needed to be!

We slept in and made the Trader Joes Pumpkin Pancakes for lunch.

The dogs and I supervising while Joe was cooking the pancakes😉.

We spent the rest of the day playing games and watching movies.
We finished the night off by watching Christmas Vacation - It's never to early to watch Christmas movies in my book!

Monday once I got up and ready for the day I got supper in the crockpot and started in on making some cinnamon rolls and cleaning the house, in the afternoon I worked on the computer and finished the cinnamon rolls - perfect afternoon snack!

The dogs keeping me company while I worked on the computer, and then Deegan decided he needed to cuddle Dublin too😊.

Tuesday I did some computer work and worked on my Christmas Planner

I can't wait to show you guys when I get this finished! Its such a great resource and keeps things so much more organized so you can enjoy Christmas more.

Dublins loving the new Walmart sweater too😉.

We ended up picking up Pizza for supper and browsed around Walmart.
I picked up some of the electric tea lights when we were at Walmart and they look so cute in some of my halloween decor!

Wednesday was Joe and I's 10 year Anniversary of being together (7 years married)
I did some cleaning when I woke up and finished up some of the pumpkin signs I have for sale on my Etsy page.
Its so much fun making these, I have a for more ideas on some fun projects coming soon!

When Joe got off work we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and took a motorcycle ride to Des Moines for dinner and then browsed around Target afterwords, It was such a fun and relaxing evening.

Thursday was all about cuddles, housework, and getting more computer work done.

Friday when I woke up I finished getting the house clean so I didn't have to worry about it over the weekend and then I went to the store with my mom to get everything we needed for our Harvest Party/My brothers surprise 30th birthday party Saturday night.

When I got home from the store I put together the pickle roll up dip, chili, and most of the macaroni salad, and frostings for the pumpkin muffins and sugar cookies to frost on Saturday.
It made it so much easier on Saturday preparing most everything on Friday.

Friday night Joe, my brother, and a few other friends and I went to the Seether concert in Des Moines, it was such a fun night but boy were we tired! we didn't get home till 2AM.

Saturday morning was a struggle 😑 we got up and around and got to my parents by mid morning to start getting ready for the party.

Two of my lifelong friends came up to visit for the day from Kansas so we went and had lunch and I put them to work helping decorate cookies for the party😊.

It was such a fun night and we pulled off the surprise for my brother!

A little Monday reminder, we have a fresh start to the week so lets make it a good one! 😀

National Peanut Butter Day

In honor of National peanut butter day coming up this Sunday the 24th, I thought I would share my favorite  peanut butter recipes from the blog.  I don’t know about you, but I never need an excuse for peanut butter, BUT I do love using these National (insert whatever here) day as a fun way to celebrate some of my favorite things.  To start us off I’ll share my favorite first! This is a little generic and certainly not all about peanut butter but my favorite is definitely  Chocolate Nobake Cookies (with peanut butter of course). And now for the rest in really no particular order because I couldn’t possibly decide between them all🤷‍♀️. Peanut blossoms   Peanut butter cookies Peanut butter sandwich cookies Peanut butter bars -  Chocolate peanut butter bars   Chocolate scotcheroos  Chocolate peanut butter fudge  Peanut butter cups  Chocolate peanut butter pie  Peanut butter popcorn And lastly...if you want peanut butter but with a li...

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper To get started you're going to turn your instant pot to the sauce feature. When it shows "Hot" on the display you're ready to add your olive oil and hamburger. Throw in all of your seasonings and brown the hamburger. Once its browned, add the noodles and more seasonings. Then add the two cans of beef broth and try to push all the ingredients down so there's not too much sitting on the surface. Then set the instant pot to cook for 8 minutes and do a quick release. Add in your milk, cheese, and party dip or sour cream if you have it. Turn it back onto sauté and stir everything together until it's melted. And serve! I don't know about you guys...but in our opinion you can't have hamburger helper without some bread and butter to go along with it😉. Ingredients: 1lb hamburger 8 oz elbow noodles 2 14 oz cans beef broth  1/2 - 1 cup milk  8 oz shredded ch...

Life update + some new projects

Lifish update I’ll do a full “anniversary post” in July but I’ve just had a lot of thoughts lately about life, crohns, everything. To be honest I’ve had a lot of confusion and even discouragement which is not normally me. I’m coming up on two years and while I’m no where near how I was two years ago (I mean that was pretty bad...😳) I’m also nowhere near where I thought I would be, I remember thinking that on the year anniversary too and I kind of think that feeling has just progressed since then😕. I’m no better than I was 8 months ago to be completely honest with you and in some ways may or worse? I am so so thankful to have a diagnosis and know what’s wrong with me, but with that I thought would come answers and healing. I’ve had some answers and some healing of course, but there’s still really a lot of unknown! In the beginning I used to talk about finding my “new normal” well I’m here to tell you 2 years later I still haven’t found it😂. Learning to navigate something new ...
