My ootd Sunday.
We got a super late start Sunday, naturally...we're not cut out for being out till 3:30am😂.
We decided to have a little date day and headed to Des Moines.
We haven't eaten at Spaghetti works in years but its one of my favorites, so we decided to head downtown.
Looking at the menu it was soo hard to decide, We'll definitely be heading back soon so we can try more!
I've been wanting to check out the new downtown Hyvee (And by new I think it opened like two years ago😂) We ended up parking right in front of it so Joe headed there after we ate.
There was so much stuff that they don't have at the other Hyvees! a lot of local and small business type stuff, and just more options for things that other ones carry. We'll definitely check it out again.
After we were done downtown we headed to meet Brian at Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Joe's win.
Such a great surprise for Joe😊, He won performance of the night.
Also...I've eaten at Cheesecake a few times with my mom but never actually gotten the cheesecake...Oh my goodness I didn't know what I was missing out on!! I got the peanut butter cheesecake cake and it was soo good...I'm hooked😬.
One of our favorite things to do is sit in the massage chairs at the mall.
Obviously they're no where near as good as a full body massage especially when you have a massage therapist as good as ours, but they do actually help!
After the mall we headed to Target to check out a few things.
I hadn't been to the Jordan Creek Target in ages...They're remodeling and everything in a different spot and so unorganized...I'll just stick to Valley West Target for awhile..
We got some Starbucks to finish our date day and then headed home to crash.
A few of my finds...
This is the hand sanitizer I use.
Having crowns its imperative that I don't get sick...so hand sanitizer and cleansing wipes are huge, I love that this one doesn't have a bunch of extra ingredients in it, and I hadn't found this scent or it in a spray before, I found it at the downtown Hyvee.
We rented this movie last weekend and fell in love with it so we knew it needed to be added to the collection.
I've been eyeing this lap desk for about a year now at Barnes and Noble...I finally took the plunge yesterday and got it and I'm so glad I did! Im currently using it as I type😊.
I had run out of these awhile ago so I picked them up at Target, my favorite cleansing wipes.
I had something similar to this years ago and loved it! I found this at Walmart and decided to try it out, it was only $6 so I'll let you know how I like it.
I found this skort at Costco and LOVE it!! If you have a Costco membership I highly recommend getting it, it is soo comfortable and it was only like $13!
Monday I started off with my yummy leftovers from Dennys Saturday night, My favorite - and pretty much the only thing I order from there😂.
Moons over my hammy with hash browns.
And I had a little Starbucks leftover from Sunday I warmed up.
He was not loving the new lap desk...and that he couldn't sit on my lap.
Satisfied he could at least partly lay on me😂.
Last week was super busy and pretty hard on me...So I spent the morning on the couch watching tv, cuddling puppies, and working on the computer.
In the afternoon a friend came over for me to style her hair.
Deegan thought she was here to see him of course.
For Supper I had my leftover Spaghetti Works - I got the Three cheese tortellini with house sauce and added parmesan and feta cheese to the top and through a hamburger bun in the toaster oven to have some garlic toast with it.
Deegan was so unhappy we were rolling up his favorite dog bed...😂.
When Joe got off work we did a few things around the house and then decided for an early bed time and watch a movie, the whole family was out pretty early.
For Breakfast Tuesday I had one of the breakfast sandwiches we made up last week - I accidentally bought breakfast sausage with bacon added to it a couple months ago and that's what I used, It made it taste soo much better!
I was on the struggle bus Tuesday...everything only slightly hit me Monday but it hit me luck a bus on Tuesday😬.
I managed to go tan (Does anyone else find tanning super relaxing??) and then spent the rest of the afternoon catching up on Matlock episodes😊.
Watching bones for the millionth time, this show never gets old.
I had intended on doing some computer work while I was laying in bed, Deegan had other ideas😂.
I fired up the grill for the first time this year and made some Bacon Cheddar Brats for supper, they were so yummy!
Joe and my brother headed to Des Moines to pick up his motorcycle so I decided to make some cookies...One of my absolute favorites are Chocolate No Bake Cookies but I have a hard time with the oatmeal so I decided to try it with Rice Krispies instead, It's not as good as with the oatmeal but a really great alternative!
Heres the recipe:
Chocolate No Bake Cookies
Ingredients
2 cups Sugar
1/4 cup Cocoa
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 cups Quick Oats (Or 5-6 cups Rice Krispies)
Mix together sugar, cocoa, milk, butter, and peanut butter over medium heat.
Bring to boil and boil for 1 minute.
Add 1 tsp Vanilla.
Add Oatmeal or Rice Krispies .
Mix together.
Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper and let set up.
Store in airtight container.
The dogs and I watched some more Matlock before bed.
My ootd Wednesday - Guys...I broke out the sandals!!
I was slow going getting up and around but I was actually starting to feel better!
I did some cleaning on the house in the morning and then headed to tan.
When I was done tanning I headed to pick up lunch for Joe and I.
Percussions here in town has daily specials and today was hot beef sandwiches😋. It's only $8 and comes with tons of food! (There was corn that came with it too I had her put in a separate container) Joe and I shared a meal and we were both full afterwards. and It was soo good, we'll definitely be trying it again.
I had some time to kill between tanning and meeting Joe for lunch so I went to the outlet store...I picked up these puppies for $4.80!
I love using the jars for storage and I'd been contemplating getting one of these tiered shelves for awhile but am so cheap...when I saw this was only $3.20 I grabbed it right up!
Then that triggered organizing the pantry which had been on my list for awhile.
This was the before, not necessarily terrible...but definitely needed some help!
I took everything off the shelves and wiped them down, then got to work putting everything back away.
Heres the after...Oh my I just love how organized the 3 tiered shelves make it look!!😍.
I did some rearranging, threw some things away, and changed out some storage.
I was able to eliminate and move around the things that were on this black shelf so now we're able to set the water on the shelves instead of in front of! Anyone that knows me knows I HATE having extra things sitting on the floor...whether its decor, or what it drives me nuts so I was soo glad when I was able to put these on the shelves instead.
It makes me so happy when I walk by this space now, so nice and clean and organized.
Then that triggered organizing my "baking" cabinet, again not necessarily terrible but needed a little help.
It could still use some more rearranging but I like to live with things for awhile before I fully decide on how it should be so I'll tweak it here and there until I get it how I want.
We also have a "snack" cabinet that I reorganized in a few "recap" post back.
Helping daddy work on the motorcycles.
I grilled up some chicken burgers for supper. I'm loving having the grill going again!
Soo yummy! and leftover shells and cheese for a quick and easy supper.
After supper Joe and I decided to go for a drive and then ended up at Walmart looking around.
We came home with a grill brush and a couple Christmas gifts we found in the clearance aisle for only a few $$!
When we got home Joe did some work in the front yard and Deegan had to keep an eye on him.
Hanging out enjoying the beautiful weather!
Poor Dublin...He'd had a long day😂.
Deegan was not feeling it this morning...He had the bed made over him.
My ootd. I found these express jeans at style encore last week for $15!! If you've never owned express jeans you don't know what you're missing out on...They are seriously the most comfortable pants I've ever owned, They have plenty of sales so there is no need to pay full price for them as they're pretty pricey...I have usually gotten them on clearance or when they have the buy one get one sale. My T-shirt is the Universal Threads brand at Target, they're so comfy and durable, they're definitely in my top 5 favorite t-shirt brands (Among express, gap, and American Eagle).
The green jacket I got last year during the Victoria Secret semi annual sale for $20, and the sandals I found at the Nike outlet a couple years ago on clearance for like $10-$15, I will basically live in these the rest of the summer.
I got up and around and headed to Des Moines to pick up a few things from Costco and the supply store, and of course ended up at Target...🤷♀️ I actually did good though and only got a couple things!
Joe got some pants from Costco last week that he loved so I picked up another pair for him (Anyone who knows costco knows things don't last long!)
For those of you that have a membership these are the skort I got the other day! I just looked and they also have them online for free shipping so if you can't make it to Des Moines you could order that way.
My supply store order was in so I picked that up - New wax pot, and picked up some body wash for my parents.
Joe needed a new blender bottle so I took that as an excuse to stop at Target, They didn't have what I wanted of course...but I did find a couple other things!
This was one of the things I found! a blogger I follow posted this that she found in the $1 spot ($3 to be exact) so I've been on the search for it, Of course Jordan Creek Target didn't have it...but I found it at Valley West!
I'm not huge on decor unless its useful and I don't like a bunch of extras sitting around unless I really love them, This goes perfectly with my color scheme in the bedroom so I thought we could use it in there for change or something.
It actually has a really good seal in the lid so I'm super tempted to go back and get a few of the clear ones to use in the kitchen since the price is so good.
This is the candle I picked up at Target. The cent is Ginger and Citron and it smells soo good!
Laundry, leftover Starbucks from this morning, and the new April Cosmoprof magazine, and of course Matlock on TV😊.
I was only gone a few hours...but to Dublin apparently it felt like a lifetime.
Once I got the laundry folded and put away I did a little computer work with some puppy cuddles of course.
Being watched while I was working in the kitchen...waiting for me to throw the toy😂.
For supper we had leftover bacon chicken burgers and I made some homemade potato wedges in the air fryer, I need to do some tweaking but they didn't turn out too bad, I'll get a recipe up when I get them perfect!
He wouldn't move so I threw a pillow on top of him and sat in front of him...I think he was happy to get such good cuddles from both of us😂.
We spent the rest of the evening watching a couple episodes of the new Magnum PI.
Ootd Friday.
Obviously Deegan thought he needed to be in the picture...and Dublin was heading for me😂.
This is the $7 Sketcher zip up I got at Costco last week and its my new favorite! I Got the shirt on clearance from American Eagle a couple months ago for like $10, and these are American Eagle jeans I got on sale for $25. I love good deals.
I had a rough late start to the day so it was slow going.
Dad stopped by in the early afternoon and of course Deegan thought he was here to play with him.
So sad when grandpa left😞.
My lunch...I only one of the ham left😩😩 I'll definitely be making another big batch of them soon, If you haven't yet check out the post on them.
Deegans favorite game to play when I'm getting ready in the bathroom, Throw the ball in the tub and make me get it out for him😏.
He also does this with vents and any small areas he can't get the ball out, He loves a good challenge, and driving me nuts.
I did some cleaning in the afternoon and then hung out with Joe when he got off work.
I tried to work on the computer but Deegan had other ideas😊.
I got bored while Joe was in the shower and ended up making Rice Krispies, lucky charms Rice Krispies, and Scotcheroos...🤷♀️.
I've been struggling this week because I did so much last week but I'm so thankful to be able to get up off the couch and do things like this on a whim, I love cooking and baking but It's been a struggle for so long having the energy to even do the simplest task.
I still usually pay for it afterwards now but at least I'm able to do it, that's progress!
We had a little celebration dinner out at Percussions here in town for Joe's fight. He had a great turn out of people and their food is always soo yummy!! I got the Alfredo and will be eating on it the next few days, such large portions too!
My ootd Saturday.
My parents and grandma bought a house north of town about 10-15 minutes and we start moving them Saturday (Starting with Grandma) Joe and I did some things around the house Saturday morning, ran a few errands and then in the afternoon went to help get her loaded up and moved.
What we came out to when we left Saturday afternoon, our tree fell over into the neighbors yard overnight😬. Thankfully it hit the yard on not our house and cars!
They had already moved a few loads of her stuff to their storage unit so once we finally got everyone there it didn't take much to get her loaded and had her finished moved in only a few hours, I love those kinds of moves, but that's just the start😉 we still have my parents and brother to move!
I love the house and all the potential it has and that they'll be so much closer to us.
After we got grandma moved she treated us to Northern Lights pizza out at Percussions, it was a late dinner and by the time we got home we were exhausted and headed straight to bed.
I came across this yesterday and thought it was the perfect thing to share with you guys this week, Such a great reminder for us to give our worries over to God, he will always take care of us!
