I've slacked a lot with my weekly recaps, I've struggled with the fact that that's about all I get posted and that I'm really not a very interesting person...😂.
Joe encouraged me to get back into it so I'm going to do a May "highlights" and then get back on track for June.
I thought this shirt was fitting for mothers day😉.
My mothers day gift from the doggies.
Pretty sure these are the best thing ever...and they need to make bigger packs of them!
Meal prep for Joe - hamburger meat mixed with Spanish rice to make tacos.
I know...we still have a ways to go on getting the garage completely cleaned out but I'm glad its usable again!
Hard at work...
Ootd for a day out with Amber and Emmie.
We went to South Union Bread company downtown, I would highly recommend if you haven't tried! they're only open from like 11-2 Monday through Friday but if you have the chance to get down there in that time its worth it.
Then we made a pit stop at Mollys Cupcakes downtown, another one of our favorites! We each got some cupcakes to go and she had some ice cream and I tried some cookie dough.
This is one of the places I've been wanting to try since they opened and we ended up walking right by so we decided to check it out! we just got coffee drinks but they were great and it was a fun atmosphere.
I've been hearing about All Spice downtown for a while, especially from Amber so we made a stop there.
There were so many amazing options but these are the three I came home with, I've been putting that Truffled Parmesan on everything!
When you go to South Union Bakery...make sure you ask for the bread! It was soo yummy.
Such a pretty short lived storm.
SOO excited about this! My grandma got a pool for up at their house in liberty and I plan on spending ALOT of time in it this summer.
Watching the guys train.
This little guy LIVES for this little pool in the summer! It's so funny to watch him play in it.
Joe built this table in time for Thanksgiving but we ran out of time to get it finished so we've just had table cloths on it since then, we finally got it outside to get it sanded down, we were goin to stain the top and paint the legs but we both love how its looking now so we're just going to put a clear coat over the top and leave it for now.
Tired of the cute puppy pictures yet? I hope not cause there is plenty more to come😉.
We made a quick trip up to Des Moines to meet Brian for some tickets and got caught in a huge hail storm on the motorcycle...😬. Thankfully we ended up under a bridge where we could climb clear to the top and still ended up getting soaked from the wind blowing the hail sideways, it was quite the adventure😊.
"Helping" me fold laundry.
We had a "scare" on the 17th...With all of the symptoms I'd been having from the Crohn's my Dr told my mom he wanted me to be admitted to the hospital instead of throwing more prednisone at me.
My hospital stay last summer was literally the worst thing ever and I didn't take it well but we got everything ready and headed up there.
The ER dr ended up just giving me more prednisone and pain medicine and sent me home, we were so not impressed with him but I was so thankful I didn't have to stay...
Joes cousins little puppy Mako loves Joe! she's such a sweet little dog.
If you haven't been to Smokey D's you're seriously missing out...Joe orders this without totally looking at the description and it was HUGE this picture doesn't do it justice😂, he barely put a dent in it and then took the rest to work to share.
We headed to Greenfield to celebrate my cousins graduation.
Missing my brother but it was fun having dad and all the uncles together!
And the graduate, Gabe. It's so hard to believe he's graduated!
When we got home I wanted something fairly bland but still kind of yummy so I whipped up some Alfredo and garlic toast (I used that parmesan truffle stuff on both and it made them so yummy).
The best way to have subway...a cold cut and some chips!
One of Joe's meal prep foods for a week - I baked up some chicken thighs.
We went to help celebrate Joes cousins little boy graduate from preschool! The only way we could get him to pose was if "Uncle Joe" promised to take him bull frog hunting...😉😂.
Grassroots gets me every time with their $5 off coupons...🤷♀️. I went for the Home Body shirt that I had been eyeing for awhile and then found this super cute tank top and jeans on sale too!
I meal prepped Joe some taco salads for the week, and then this was my meal prep...😂.
My littler helper! although then I realized I spelled Birthday wrong...but it was only a few days before so I just left it🤷♀️
This dog seriously LOVES his pool, its so funny to watch him run around and play in it.
Joe hard at work finishing the sanding on the table.
Such an amazing feeling...We paid the car off!! it may seem like a small thing to some but to us it was such an exciting thing and it will be so nice not having the payment anymore.
Our evening didn't go so well...I got a dog bite and ended up in urgent care Friday night to get antibiotics for it.
Joe came home with flowers and chocolate cake along with the antibiotics, he knows the way to my heart😊.
Trying to help daddy open his Birthday present.
I got Joe these speakers for his motorcycle - If you want the link let me know and I'll send it to you! It was such a great price and has awesome sound.
My pretty flowers😃.
Getting things ready for Joe's birthday party up at mom and dads, Dublins a little poser...clearly Deegan hasn't figured out where to sit yet.
Trying to see every time someone went out to the garage😂.
Isn't this the cutest thing?? They were watching grandma.
It pays having a momma that used to decorate cakes...She did a great job on Joes!
Joes been wanting one of these cigar box guitars for ages and one of his friends made him one! Such a thoughtful gift.
These two could definitely be mistaken for brothers😂.
Love my momma😊.
Doesn't this picture just melt your heart?? My friends have the CUTEST baby!!
It had been a long day...Deegan was over it.
Emmie loved playing with Joes mom💜💜.
These two...😂 they couldn't hang.
As soon as we got home they headed straight to the couch for bed.
Sunday my parents had a bbq. Reverse is going out of Joe's truck but they had to get my dads truck and van pulled out of the yard (Mud) so this was how they did it😂😂.
Daddy hard at work grilling everything.
Love family time💜💜💜.
We were being watched while Joe was hooking up his speakers for his bike on Monday (Memorial Day).
The weather finally cleared up so we decided to take a ride up to Des Moines.
And ended up at the angry goldfish for lunch, I seriously love this place so much!
Just people watching again...
Trying to help momma fold laundry😒.
Tuesday night I went down to the gym with Joe, it was so neat seeing his banner from his last fight up on the wall!
I have been dying to see Toby Keith for YEARS I was SO excited when I saw he's coming to the fair!! Now the countdown begins...
It's kind of become our thing to do a new color for each of Joe's fights, I love getting to use my creative side doing this and each one becomes my new favorite!
You all know I love a good deal...The Wholesale outlet up town dropped all of the clothes to $4 each so I scored some new tops and a dress!!
And I finally got another curtain panel ordered and hung up.
Joe was under weight for his fight Friday so we got subway for supper, I could seriously live off subway...It's one of the few things that don't bother me.
I love this picture of Joe...the calm before the craziness of the night!
Joe is the "matchmaker" for Brians promotion which means he matches up all of the fighters, etc. Things are always crazy when people back out, are late, etc. I don't envy all the stress they go through to get everything to run smoothly!
I promise Emmett wasn't as grumpy as he looked in the picture...😂 It was so cute watching him get into the fights all night and keep himself entertained.
And he won! TKO in 43 seconds, my kind of fight, I love how quickly it ended😂.
Joe's friend Sam (on the far left) made the drive up from Kansas City to be there for Joe, they hadn't seen each other in a few years and it was so great of him to come up and support him! Then he had his dad (his dad was a boxer in his younger days, it runs in the family, And then Joe's taekwondo instructor).
And that's all for May! it was a super busy stressful month with a lot of good memories too😊.
