Weekly Recap June 23rd -29th

My ootd Sunday, along with some perfectly posing doggies😊.

We took our time getting up and around and then we decided to go to Des Moines to get lunch.

We had a giftcard to Buffalo Wild Wings so we decided to use that up and everything was soo good! We've only been here a few times but I think we'll probably end up going back pretty soon! When the pretzel came out I thought it didn't look very good but I was soo wrong.

We went to the one on Merle Hay and Joe wanted to go check out Jays CD and Hobby at Merle Hay Mall so we headed over there for him to look around and ended up browsing around a few stores.

I saw this cardigan at Rue 21 (I haven't been there in years but they had some cute clothes!) and I'm totally going to have to go back and get it for fall, it was only $18!

Ok anyone that knows me knows I LOVE the old lawn chairs that look like this, If I see one at a yard sale or something I can't pass them up. How cute is this loveseat one that was at Target!! I told Joe I NEED it! and it was on sale for like $28. I like to think about things for a few days before I buy them (Unless its a crazy good clearance price of course).

I told Joe he could go to Jays CD and Hobby if he took me to Starbucks afterwords, a pretty good compromise I thought😉.

You guys...This is seriously my FAVORITE frappuccino, They got rid of it for a couple years and I'm so glad its back! (Only for the summer though I think) I got it decaf of course, left the whipped cream off and got it with Coconut milk. It is soo good! If you like Starbucks you definitely need to try it.

When we got home I tried my hand at taking some good pics of the chocolate peanut butter bars I made last week for that blog post.
Of course I had one too...and then I made Joe throw them away so I wouldn't eat the rest, I'm seriously regretting that decision though😂.

I've been wanting to learn how to kickbox as a form of exercise for a long time and I was finally feeling good enough to have Joe teach me, I only lasted about 20 minutes but I had soo much fun and can't wait to do it regularly!

Clearly Dublin missed me.
And then of course Deegan needed in on the cuddles!

For supper we had the rest of the leftover hamburger helper I made last week and of course bread and butter with it, because you can't have one without the other😉.
It was so yummy and easy, It's definitely going to be a regular in the meal rotation.

We ran up to my parents to get there truck so Joe can haul some tools and stuff up there that will go in the shop and visited for a little bit.

Joe's been in need of a haircut so when we got back from my parents I got his hair all fixed up just in time for the heat wave thats coming this week😬.

Deegan thinks if someones got the cape on getting their hair done that naturally they're intentions are to play with him.

The face he gave Joe when he wouldn't play fetch with him, You would think this dog is so abused😒.
As soon as I finished cutting Joes hair we were so tired we headed to bed early.

Monday vibes with these two...😂.

My ootd Monday.
I was definitely feeling it from all the running around this weekend and working out Sunday...I was still so tired when I woke up!
I'm so glad I picked up the house Sunday night so I had less to do Monday morning.
I had to go get labs done for my drs appointment Tuesday so I went and did that and then headed to my massage appointment at 10:00, If you guys are looking for a massage therapist let me know and I will get you Ashleys info, she is soo amazing! I was so relaxed when I left.

When I got home I was trying to relax and get some blog work done and Deegan had other ideas like me giving him all the attention.

In the afternoon I made up lunches for Joe and my brother for the week.
Here is the recipe I used. It is so easy, simple and taste soo good!
I had to try a little of it of course to make sure it tasted alright for the guys😉.

Once I got done cooking and cleaning up the kitchen I sat down to do some more work on the computer and then it was Dublins turn to beg for my attention...😉.

We all have that guilty pleasure tv show...for most women its the bachelor, I could care less about that...but I gotta watch the Kardashians😂 so in honor of another guilty pleasure show coming back on tv tonight (The Hills!) I figured I'd just have a Keeping up with the Kardashian marathon all day since I was behind.

My plan was relax and do nothing Monday, granted I was moving a little slower I don't do well at that...I got two out of the three (or was it four??) loads of laundry that were clean folded and put away and the dishwasher unloaded and reloaded.

My sweet little laundry helpers.

For an early supper I warmed up my pretzel in the air fryer and it was just as good as the first time eating it!

The perfect dessert! If you haven't tried these yet you absolutely need too, especially the dark chocolate ones.

We ran up to my parents after supper and the dogs were soo cute on the car ride up! They were loving the wind.

Dublin loves grandpa!

They've always got to be with momma...
I was so proud of them! I took each one for a walk by themselves just up to my parents shop and back.
They haven't gotten to go on a walk for quite a few months because they were way to much for me to handle especially with Deegan behavior issues.
Dublin usually does well for the most part but as we've been holding Deegan accountable we have been Dublin as well so I could definitely see an improvement in him.
I was soo impressed with Deegan! even going for walks by himself he would get so much anxiety and couldn't actually enjoy the walk, he walked the whole time perfectly and didn't get stressed out at all! I'm excited to try again with him and make sure it wasn't just a fluke😉.

My ootd Tuesday - I got this top on clearance at Kohls a year or so ago for like $5 its out of my normal comfort zone but I love it! and even when its warm out its still plenty breathable, and are you all shocked that I'm wearing something other than my nike sandals??😂.

Halfway through my hair appointment...sitting with a deep condition mask.

Finished! We went lighter with the blonde and took about an inch or so off, I'm trying to grow it but I had so much breakage from riding the motorcycle that it was in desperate need of a cut...

I headed to my parents after my hair appointment to get some pool time in before the rain hit. I got about a half hour of beautiful weather before I watched the storm rolling in.

According to the radar it looked like just a small patch of rain so I just decided to wait it out, these two were so upset I made them sit out in the rain😂.

Joe and my brother brought pizza after work from Caseys and it totally hit the spot! Along with a smidge of Pepsi...I never drink pop especially with caffeine but sometimes a little sip is needed😉.

The doggies were all about cuddles...but are you really surprised by that??

The car ride home...that face😂.

Dublin was not impressed that Joe wouldn't let him between us, so he climbed up to Joes head and sat like this😂.

Most days I start out with toast for breakfast - every once in awhile I'll make one of our freezer meal breakfast items (I need to restock though) Or if we're out and about I love breakfast sandwiches but when I'm at home this is the easiest thing on my stomach so its my go to.

I swear this dog loves heat so much!! I got up to get a drink and came back to him in my spot on the heating pad.

I love second day hair...especially when all you have to do is throw some dry shampoo in and you're good to go!

I started another round of iron infusions Wednesday afternoon.
My doctor had me stop taking iron pills a month or so ago because it was making me even more sick so now I'll start getting regular iron infusions, Thankfully this time around its the 2 doses vs. the 5 like last time!

I wasn't feeling good Wednesday so I spent most of my time in bed especially after my infusion. I ended up taking a nap and cuddling some puppies.

Joe brought home subway for me for supper,

I wasn't feeling that well so I got some puppy cuddles in and went to bed early.

My ootd Thursday - Target outfit..shirt and shorts are both from there, and chances are you've seen this outfit on here before because it is soo comfortable!

Dublin keeping Deegan company with their kongs while he had to be in the kennel😊.

I had someone over in the morning so Deegan had to be in the kennel.

I still wasn't feeling so good so I tried to rest in bed most of the afternoon Thursday, Deegan thought I should be playing with him.

See what I mean?

And Dublin did too, he was living up the belly rubs.

I love this sweet old man! he loves soaking up the sun outside.

When Joe got off work I went with him to do his gym training out at Q pond, they have a great outdoor exercise equipment area and plenty of open room for them to spar and do other training.

My breakfast Friday, actually my breakfast 99% of the time lol.

Practicing their lay down and stay, and doing so great at it! the more strict we get with Deegan the more I realize how naughty Dublin is...😏.

My ootd Friday - I still wasn't feeling amazing so I was going for comfy.

I was going to run up to our chiropractor Friday morning but I still wasn't feeling great so I ended up staying in town and getting some errands run in the morning.

Walmart has the tank tops I love on sale for like $5! I've had the pink for awhile but I got the black one today, they are so comfortable!

After I ran errands I went and had lunch with Joe, he's so busy between work and gym that I try to spend as much time as possible with him so I try to go have lunch with him 2-3 days a week!

When I got home I hung some laundry while my lunch was warming up.

For lunch I had some leftover homemade pizza we had in the freezer. It was soo yummy even reheated in the toaster oven!

A couple of the things I found clearance at Walmart, the calendar was only $1.50, the pink tank top was $3 (So great if you're in a dressier environment and under cardigans, etc.) and the black one I told you about for $5.

A little later in the afternoon I headed up to my parents to spend some time in the pool.
and it turned into a huge disaster...😔.
Joe got there about 5:15 (We had borrowed my dads truck to do a couple things so he was bringing it back and riding home with me).
I noticed a little before 5:00 when I came in the house with the dogs that Deegan was acting really restless and then I noticed all of the welts all over his body....
I gave him a Benadryl and that did nothing so as soon as we left we called the vet and was able to get him in as soon as we got to town.

It's hard to tell in this picture but he was covered head to toe in huge welts and by the time we got to the vet his eyes were almost swollen shut😔.
Thank God for our vet being so close and being able to get him in!
She gave him a large dose of a steroid and then sent us home with some prednisone after finding out he is allergic to grass...if any dog would be allergic to grass it would be Deegan😂.
We now started giving him an allergy pill everyday and will be throughout the rest of the summer so this never happens again! He's gotten hives from being out in the grass but absolutely nothing compared to this time...

We had some more leftover pizza for supper, this one was the white pizza we made, just as good as lunch was!

The rest of the night we kept a close eye on this little guy...

He was so goofy from all of the prednisone and everything it was quite entertaining😂.

And Dublin needed a little loving after Deegan was getting all the attention.

I swear this isn't the same picture as Friday...😂.

My ootd Saturday - I bet you're shocked that I'm wearing something other than my nike sandals right?? This top I got at the outlet place up town for $2 (It's Target) and my express shorts, I actually have two pairs of these😉.

Spending a little time outside before it got to a million degrees,

Joe had mentioned to me quite awhile ago he wanted to do a little celebration of "life"for the year anniversary of me being in the hospital and being so sick.
Naturally I chose Angry Goldfish...😉.

Does this not look amazing!? I always get the brisket sandwich - I swear its better than any bbq place I've had brisket, and then I I love the Mac and cheese (The parmesan fries are amazing too but I try to stay away from things that have been fried) and I didn't snap a picture of the pretzels but we always have to get those too.

Such an amazing support group I have!!

But I definitely wouldn't be where I am without my number one supporter💙💙.

We ended up going to Southridge Mall and checking out a couple stores (Did ya'll hear they're completely getting rid of Southridge?? Joe heard the owners not renewing any leases and its going to be bulldozed...That makes me so sad, we have so many memories from there!)

I saw this dress at Marshalls and that it was so cute! but for $40 I have no where to wear it.

But I did find this shirt at Ross and it is sooo fitting for me😂😂.

When we got home we decided to go for a ride around town.

And then we headed over to our friends to have a little fire. This little girl is half Weiner dog half boxer😂 she is such a little sweetie and has to compete for attention with the three German Shepards they have.
We were out till like 11:00 and let me just say that's super late for us! Dublin was so happy to see us home too.

I hope you all have an amazing week and count each blessing that comes your way!💜

National Peanut Butter Day

In honor of National peanut butter day coming up this Sunday the 24th, I thought I would share my favorite  peanut butter recipes from the blog.  I don’t know about you, but I never need an excuse for peanut butter, BUT I do love using these National (insert whatever here) day as a fun way to celebrate some of my favorite things.  To start us off I’ll share my favorite first! This is a little generic and certainly not all about peanut butter but my favorite is definitely  Chocolate Nobake Cookies (with peanut butter of course). And now for the rest in really no particular order because I couldn’t possibly decide between them all🤷‍♀️. Peanut blossoms   Peanut butter cookies Peanut butter sandwich cookies Peanut butter bars -  Chocolate peanut butter bars   Chocolate scotcheroos  Chocolate peanut butter fudge  Peanut butter cups  Chocolate peanut butter pie  Peanut butter popcorn And lastly...if you want peanut butter but with a li...

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper To get started you're going to turn your instant pot to the sauce feature. When it shows "Hot" on the display you're ready to add your olive oil and hamburger. Throw in all of your seasonings and brown the hamburger. Once its browned, add the noodles and more seasonings. Then add the two cans of beef broth and try to push all the ingredients down so there's not too much sitting on the surface. Then set the instant pot to cook for 8 minutes and do a quick release. Add in your milk, cheese, and party dip or sour cream if you have it. Turn it back onto sauté and stir everything together until it's melted. And serve! I don't know about you guys...but in our opinion you can't have hamburger helper without some bread and butter to go along with it😉. Ingredients: 1lb hamburger 8 oz elbow noodles 2 14 oz cans beef broth  1/2 - 1 cup milk  8 oz shredded ch...

Life update + some new projects

Lifish update I’ll do a full “anniversary post” in July but I’ve just had a lot of thoughts lately about life, crohns, everything. To be honest I’ve had a lot of confusion and even discouragement which is not normally me. I’m coming up on two years and while I’m no where near how I was two years ago (I mean that was pretty bad...😳) I’m also nowhere near where I thought I would be, I remember thinking that on the year anniversary too and I kind of think that feeling has just progressed since then😕. I’m no better than I was 8 months ago to be completely honest with you and in some ways may or worse? I am so so thankful to have a diagnosis and know what’s wrong with me, but with that I thought would come answers and healing. I’ve had some answers and some healing of course, but there’s still really a lot of unknown! In the beginning I used to talk about finding my “new normal” well I’m here to tell you 2 years later I still haven’t found it😂. Learning to navigate something new ...
